Star Trek: Voyager: Twentieth Anniversary Celebration Day

TrekToday

Star Trek: Voyager fans should play on attending this summer’s Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas. On August 8, the Star Trek: Voyager: The Twentieth Anniversary Celebration Day will take place at the convention. The special day will feature a panel with Kate Mulgrew, Robert Beltran, Jeri Ryan, Tim Russ, Robert Picardo, Roxann Dawson, […]

Are Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan actually going to appear on stage together at the same time? That would be the first time that has ever happened. I know Garrett Wang has been attempting to make peace between the two women.

Can I afford another loan to go to Vegas again. Sadly, no

I will say one thing though. Watching Voyager today, it does not look 20 years old at all. The ship, the clothes and the technology all still feel very crisp and futuristic. I get the impression TOS dated pretty quickly after it finished but I suspect Voyager will still look pretty decent even in another 20 years (we'll see)

The FedCon in Duesseldorf/Germany this year features many Voyager character: Tim Russ, Jeri Ryan and Manu Intiraymi among other. Manu is less than 4 month older than me, which means that I'm old.

They could at least have had Kes into that TrekToday picture. Why are they always pretending that the character never existed? I don't like that.

I have never attended a Star Trek convention and this being the 20th anniversary is the one that I would love to attend, but I don't think that I'll be able to do so. Sigh........ :(

"Fans of makeup legend Michael Westmore will again get to see the artist transform an actor into a Star Trek character. This year, Westmore will turn Robert Beltran into Chakotay. Beltran will be available for a limited amount of photo ops after the makeup demonstration."

Other than the tattoo, I don't think that Chakotay is that hard to do. B'Elanna's make-up and wig would be a lot harder and more time consuming. And let's not talk about Neelix, that would take hours.

Yeah the idea of 'transforming' Beltran made me laugh, it's basically paint on the forehead.

It'd be good to see Ryan and Mulgrew on stage together. Makes the slim likelihood of a whole cast reunion at least possible at some point. Plus the mischievous side of me would love to see how they'd handle a blunt question about their working relationship during the series .

Would love to go too. Voyager was the first series I properly started watching as a little kid so it has a place in my heart. Going would require a trip across the Atlantic, so not likely unless I win the lottery within the next few months! Was lucky enough to go to the TNG reunion in London last October so I'm happy with my lot :), plus I can only force my brother to go to so many of these things!

Why isn't she going to to the con?

I'd love to do the Trek Vegas some time; but this year we've got a bucket-list trip to the Grand Canyon. We reserved a rim cabin a year in advance for September, and I don't think two big trips in two months are in the cards for me. I hope they are still going strong for the Silver (25th) Anniversary; I would keep it in mind and not book around it.

Based on the frequency I've seen Kate field the 2nd most common "shipboard romance" con question, I'd be interested in seeing how Jeri handles the J/7 subtext theory.

One version of Mulgrew's response to, "Was your relationship with Seven, actually maternal?"

Another version of Mulgrew's answer to a similar question later in the same con about a lesbian relationship between J & 7. "How the hell would I get her clothes off?

I know one thing for sure.... ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fBNg-ejyM8

Kate and Jeri WON'T greet each other like Kate and John de Lancie did in Germany in 2003. :p

Oh, and for those who are sure that Kate's aversion to a J/7 relationship means she's anti-gay, a little bit later at the same 2011 Dragoncon, she said this...

If it was to materialize - and by that i mean the two appear together. Which will be unlikely.. I think if prompt by the audience about the J/7 dynamic. I think Mulgrew will be the first to jump in with " It was Maternal" and Ryan will agree. So that question will be shot down before it began.

All the harsh words exchanged between them and YEARS of avoidance of each other, I cannot see them putting each other through the embarrassment/awkwardness by appearing together and possibly spoil what is to be a wonderful celebration. If they where - i just can only imagine they would be placed at either side of the room with Ryans security right behind her . Just like on Jeremy Kyle show and not a lot of words exchanged between the two.

Wang, McNeill, Picardo and Philips will be the ones bringing life to the event:lol:..

As for their appearance. I recently read the two appeared at the same convention - on the same day back in 2013. I wonder if anyone went and have stories to share;-).

Ryan apparently went on first .Mulgrew and Beltran followed a few segments after. So could it be possible Mulgrew ACTUALLY saw Ryan backstage ???or did Ryans security keep her hidden away in some trailer someplace to avoid the preying eyes of Mulgrew;)

He`s grey now. They also have to dye his hair. I`m curious if they will do that. I so would like to watch this (and the whole Voycast).
Saw this great pic of nearly the whole cast on twitter https://twitter.com/monkeyfunkster/with_replies

I hope anyone who is looking to go will write a full report of there experience and share with us all:)

My prediction for this event;

-Ethan Philips and Robert Picard will steal the night with their legendary cutting edge one liners in a performance that will even put the top comedians of our day - to shame. I truly love those guys:)

-Mulgrew will spend a moment or two rehashing her years where she meet up with her daughter - so the fans fall asleep before the show goes into full swing:lol:

- Of Course , the Chakotay/Janeway fans will get there monies worth with Mulgrew/Beltran tremendous overacting in order to gravitate to the C/J fans . They will reminisce on how they met and how Mulgrew found him incredibly attractive and how he did her -ya de ya de ya da..Mulgrew will turn up a notch with a headline" exclusive"when she reveals to the C/7 fans - they had a relationship for a while . They will also throw in a kiss or two for the C/J fans to cry all pigging night and run home dreaming about that kiss forever and a day. All in a typical Mulgrew style. She loves that shit right

- Music will be provided by no other than Tim Russ with a little help from Wang

- Wang will be doing his solo comedic spot of his outdated and awful impression of Mulgrew. Which i hesitant to add - he and Ryan still finds funny:rolleyes: . The only joke is him:p

- The cast will switch roles. Mulgrew and Dawson will play Chakotay and Wang. Beltran will come on dressed as Captain Janeway and Picard and Philips as Seven( bold heads together as Seven assets).

- There will be NO. I repeat No Mulgrew/Ryan moments -if there were it will be of security at each side of the room and maybe one or two death glares from Mulgrew with a mixture of ( rolls the wine around my mouth)subtle "jabs" with a fusion of share disdain :guffaw::guffaw:
- The menu is rash-ens.. a pot of beans - if your lucky.. So be sure to fill your tummys with a Burger king whopper , chips and all the shit you can get from your local takeway

All in all , it is going to be a fabulous evening. Purchase your tickets. They are going fast:guffaw::guffaw:

I don't know.

Maybe it brings back a bad memory or maybe she feel that she has left all of that behind her.
