Star Trek VI courtesy of Pace?

Savoy 1984

Ensign
Red Shirt
I brought an old VHS copy of Star Trek VI yesterday for 10p which was a bit of a bargain, it wasn't till I got it home though I noticed it had a sticker on the front of the box that said "Star Trek VI courtesy of Pace". now I know that Pace is an electronics company but I'm curious to know what product this was given away free with.

Does anybody know?

10 pounds, sounds you paid more then the plastic of a vhs tape is worth. And remember.... Pace is also a salsa!

Sorry I think you misunderstood me, there is 100p in a pound, I paid 10p which about 5 cents, easy mistake to make if you don't use the currency.

Makes you wonder if it was given away free with a VCR...I have seen similar promos with DVD players coming with free discs.

I suspect that you are correct. Reminds me of the good old days when you got two controllers and a Mario/Duck Hunt cartridge with the NES.

Why would you buy a video?
Some people still have VCRs... for many reasons. Perhaps because some older titles aren't available in DVD, perhaps economics. Not everyone is cut from the same cookie mold.
I gave mine to my niece for Christmas as well as my entire VHS collection (300+), because she likes a lot of the old movies she grew up watching with me. :vulcan:
Pace=mexican food brand
Pace=Pace Warehouse, K-Mart's veersion of Sam's Club
There may be others... I'd suggest a Google search.

VHS was a solid technology for many years. I would be willing to buy a VHS for 25 cents. Even if I only watch it once it was still worth the quarter.

I also, believe it or not, still watch a lot of Star Trek on VHS taped TV broadcasts. I own DS9 and TOS on DVD but I don't watch TNG or VOY enough to justify spending several hundred dollars on DVDs. The VHS is good enough for me. Plus, the old commercials can be fun.
