Star Trek VI: 2 pairs of gravity boots

Yeah, I realize that simple magnets wouldn't exactly make for easy walkin'. Still, something like that could help in an emergency, if just to keep you from floating about uncontrolllably.

Then again, in a dire emergency you might want to gain the ability to fly!

In narrow corridors, just kicking your way forward would probably be more efficient...

Flying through air is pretty inefficient, even when one ignores gravity. Any wing or fin big enough to provide actual thrust would probably be too big for indoors use! Unless it was being flapped by muscles capable of much faster sustained action than human limbs.

It might actually be worthwhile to bolt small jets onto the wearer's boot soles for zero-gee action (easy to steer, low thrust gives good acceleration, magical Trek power sources allow for compacting and omission of combustibles). Which may well be how the jet boots of ST5 came to be. I wonder whether the ones from ST6 also featured jets?

If special zero gee boots are to be worn, then zero gee gloves would be a good addition, I guess. Built-in gravitics would allow the gripping of surfaces that the fingers can't get a grip of, and would drastically increase mobility and dexterity. But foot- and handwear like that would seldom be needed except by dedicated zero gee action personnel - be they repairmen or boarding party combatants.
