Star Trek TOS rare press release

hi everyone,

So I have an original series press release from paramount studios, from about 1969. It has 19 b&w photos as well as actor bios and what appear to be magazine articles. Does anyone have any idea how much something like this would be worth or where I could find out?

Thanks in advance! X

I have to agree - if you really want to find out what it's worth, try posting it on Ebay. The simple fact of the matter is that ANYTHING is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. An appraiser or even a collector's book can sometimes tell you how much similar items have gone for in the past, but that won't tell you how much your item is worth now.

Keep in mind - you don't actually have to sell it on Ebay. Just set a totally ridiculous reserve price if you're not actually interested in selling it, but this way you can watch the bids and see how much someone is really willing to pay. That way, if you do decide you're interested in selling, you have a baseline to work with and while it would cost you a few bucks up front, you could even go so far as to get everything authenticated and such should the item appear to be worth the effort (a proper "Certificate Of Authenticity" can go a long way towards getting better prices for genuine historical items).

So again...ANY item is ONLY worth what someone is willing to pay. If you really want to know, post it for sale online (Ebay, Craigslist or otherwise) and find out.

I'm not sure how rare they are, some other guy was just posting about one today!

Value will of course depend on how rare the items are and in what condition they are in. If the photos are in circulation and the information in the press kit already out there; I would say the value is not that much. On the other hand if you have photos that have not been seen before then we may be talking about something of a higher value.

Good luck with the sale and let us know what happens.
