Mmmh...Am I the only one who thinks sex aggressions and the #MeeToo movement are not a fun theme at all ? :-/
I mean, real women have been raped and mistreated for real by real men...Not meant to mini-mod, but I feel a bit bothered :-/

There's no intent to make fun of the victims, rather to draw attention to the pests themselves. You should be bothered by these people, not talking about them and being distracted by the next news story to come along is exactly what they want.

@Orac : I see your point, even if I still disapprove of that theme. I don't think it's funny that sex pests and aggressions are associated with photos of Data and Yar.
But yeah, you're right on the fact that sex pests should be spoken about and shouldn't become a touchy taboo topic we hesitate to talk about !

Don't forget - men can be harassed, assaulted, molested, and raped by women as well. (Which includes me being a victim for 3 of those 4 things, by the way and, yes, there are men who are raped by women - there are more possibilities that what might instantly come to mind...) Keeping it to just one sex as if the other never does any wrong does trivialize the concept of sexual assault and molestation, et al, as well as being sexist (if not reverse-sexist) at its core.

So the influence of a mind altering substance can't make one a sex pest? That's the biggest news of the last 17,000 years or so.

Humor is also subjective, it is rare for people to agree on everything 100% of the time. Then again, I was not as much going by "humor" as I might have for "loose association" and the fact I personally didn't want to put up pictures of real people, alleged or otherwise (am not judging those who had). Of course, intentionally or not, "The Naked Now" does contain humor - sometimes really warped humor as the Yar/Data scenes very readily prove on their own.

You do have a point, though, regarding Data and Yar. Who would you submit in their place, I don't see that as being unfair given the circumstances?
