Apparently it's cool these days to rip off sound effects from Star Trek to use as your "computer-y sound effects" in your lame ass rap video.

When this came up on MTV, I had to double check my phone, since I have a similar set of sounds for messages, emails, etc.

Somehow I doubt the good folks at Paramount for paid for the use of the sounds. Pretty funny, though. I guess nobody but the most hardcore Trekker would be able to recognize the sounds...
