I hope everyone enjoys playing as much as I enjoyed creating.

Looks sweet! Will try it out ASAP.

Edit: Did you create this game from scratch, or did you use some kind of tool or base? It all looks very interesting.

179MB is going to be a killer on my 56K modem, but I will do my best. :D

I apologize for the size. But it seems like commercial game demo downloads are often over 200 MB.

I used Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and graphics from assorted places. You can read more about it on my website.

So far, the game's been pretty good. It crashed when I tried manually activating the shields as the Gorn approached.

I've been stuck at a passworded door for an hour now.

Out of curiosity, do you remember what type of error the game gave you when you tried to activate the shields? Did you try to activate them immediately when you entered the Bridge before Kirk asked Uhura to hail the fleet?

is it all one file, or broken up? I am going to a Con and do not much time to inveatigate today.

It is all one file. Based on the way I had programmed it, I didn't see any other way to do it. Sorry. It's still a lot smaller than almost any commercial game download.

I believe so. However, I seem to be unable to replicate the crash.

Still stuck at the infernal door! The answer must be rather obvious.

Hey, no need to apologise for providing an interesting game for free. I'll whine about a 650MB patch for Medieval II, but I'm more than happy to make the effort to get this.

Pretty interesting so far, but I'm stuck trying to get into the...

watchtower

I have talked to everyone and visited place after place and tried the inventories but so far no way...?

NM, I figured it out. Everytime I clicked on the item of interest it would give me info about the item behind it. I realize now I had to click lower.

What exactly do you mean that it would give you info about the item behind it?

I finished the first mission and got the code last night!

As for the 'item' I was being ambiguous:

I was in the fountain courtyard and clicking on all the aliens but I clicked on their heads to talk. When I clicked on the Second Minister's head area it would give me the fountain message. I realize now I needed to click lower to get the minister to talk to us.

That reminds me of a mission in Judgment Rites. You had to get to the bridge but there was a locked door in the way. I found a way to make an explosive, clicked on the door and...nothing. I spent literally over an hour trying everything I could think of, before trying the door again, and realising you had to click on the lower left corner for it to work. Ah, the joys of point-and-click games! :D

This game is very entertaining, though frustrating. :-)

I've
been poking around inside the romulan ship. How the heck am I supposed to know the exact thing to tell the romulan security captain after impersonating the doctor?

Also,
clever thing, weaving changelings into the story

With regards to your first question:

Take a look at the medical log in sickbay. There's a note there which indicates that some of the security staff are...overdue for...something

I think it's pretty ingenious how there's an open-ended response box there. Reminds me of the wireless message room in Titanic: Adventure Out of Time.

And yes, this game has replicated the frustrating aspect of JR and 25th quite well...maybe too well. Hehe. Very entertaining storyline so far. I also like that, unlike many fan-made games, the grammar and spelling are largely done right! And I really appreciate the Trek background music when it kicks in.
