^^^ Sounds Indian. Indians make up a rather large portion of the demographic in the UK. I suppose it's a hold-over from England's colonial period over a century ago. So much so that curry is threatening fish & chips as the national food of the UK. I remember, when visiting there 10 years ago, you couldn't swing a dead cat without finding some kind of chicken curry sandwich at a local deli or convenience store. I suppose it's a lot like chicken salad sandwiches here in the states, but I personally prefer curry and wish it was more prevalent over here.

Since we're on food, I'd say the national food of the US is BBQ. A style of cooking meats that you probably don't get much anywhere else in the world.

^^^ Mmmm - yeah. Carolina and Virginia are my favorites. I'll take any kind if it's put in front of me, but I do prefer the heavy vinegar-based ones myself.

The Wiki has several different national foods for the US, but barbeque is apparently the one in the south.

BBQ, I've never heard of such a thing!

Wow. Ok. So, after sending an email last Friday, I got an a response back saying that again they didn't have my billing info on file. Called yesterday and talked with a really helpful young lady. This time she made sure that my info was saved into the system. I should now be getting issues 5 thru 8 and DS9 in two weeks.

I tried to subscribe to this, only to have their billing system tell me my address is nonexistent. Received a support e-mail from someone named Rajish Rupaldi who asked for my full (unredacted) credit card number and my SSN so he could 'urgently process manual transaction.' I told him just to forget about it. There's definitely some shenanigans happening in their billing department which my financial info doesn't need to be a part of.

So wait, if the dudes name was Sir Nigel Winterbottom III, would you have given him the info? :p

If so, my name is Lord Edgar Hollingsworth and I'll be needing all of that info, as well as your mother's maiden name, a stool sample, the details of how you lost your virginity, your fingerprints,a blood sample, and your first born.

Nope, but mine usually show up a 7-10 days after the first arrivals are posted here.

Been charged as of a week ago, nothing yet. In the past, it usually takes about 2 weeks between charging and delivery for me. Not ideal, but it is coming from the UK, and at least they're consistent.

I was charged right after Christmas (roughly 2 weeks ago), I'd typically expect it to arrive the end of this week based on the past few releases, but I read something on their facebook page about some delays getting them in-stock, so I'm guessing it may not be for another week or so.

Edit: Here's a post from their FB page from today (7 January)

hey guys, We've been busy getting these ready for dispatch so they should be with you very soon Thanks for waiting!

That, plus everything was notoriously slowed down around Christmastime. Both FedEx and UPS admitted to having serious shipping problems. They're probably just now getting out from the backlog.

Yeah, but UPS got their back log delivered about a day or two after Christmas.

My ships have been coming USPS. The kind lady usually walks it up and puts it on our porch.

I hope so as well, but I am will be very curious which ships I get. I am pretty sure based off of billing that I am getting DS9, but since I am new to this, I have only gotten the first two previous. So will be curious if I get 3 & 4, 5 & 6, or 7 & 8.

Curious how long has been the typical wait time. My first one was nearly 4 weeks.

And this last one was charged the 20th of December. So I really hope this week, and it won't take as long each time.

But even with the wait, I am very pleased.

Agreed - I, too, have been quite impressed with the quality of the models and books. They probably could have done better with the binders, but I understand they probably wanted to try something different than the 3-ring design - likely less expensive to produce. My only gripe with that is the slight damage that can sometimes occur when trying to fit those little pegs up the inside spine (and the initial confusion at how to actually use the pegs ). Other than that, I have no regrets about getting in on the ground floor of this subscription.

I picked up my copy of issue eleven with the Reliant earlier and it looks good even though I'm not a total fan of the design.
