Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Yeah, I check it out even if I don’t plan on buying.

next week is the big week. 1280 of mid-sized Cerritos will be available.

doesn’t look like much of the Trek stuff has sold out yet.

I’m nearly done with the Eaglemoss models.

4-5 bonus issues (which MR may never get), the XL 2009 Enterprise (that I probably don’t really need) and the last two Lower Decks ships. Oddly enough, I only have half of the shuttle sets, but don’t have a burning desire to get sets 5-8, although maybe an individual model of Jones’ Spacematic, since it’s practicality a BSG shuttle kitbash, if that pops up.

Yeah. The Cerritos is the last one I REALLY want.

If I can grab the Yosemite shuttle and Enterprise F I will but if they sell out quick I won’t lose any sleep.

I've got the XL Cerritos but prefer smaller models -easier to store and handle. So looking to get regular Cerritos, plus Yosemite, the Kaylon ship, F-302, and the outstanding "Build Your D" shuttles.

I only want the Cerritos and Vancouver, hopefully I'll have some luck with the former but I'll have to give up hope on getting the later for a reasonable price.

Just back from a two week trip visiting family in Ottawa, including a weekend in Montreal that happened to coincide with the Montreal Comic Con. (Both are really beautiful cities that are a lot of fun to explore, BTW, and a train trip from Ottawa to Montreal is actually really cheap).

At the con, I picked up the Voth research ship and Ru'afo's flagship (I figured I should buy something from the vendor after making them dig through stacks of models and finding everything I either already had or it was a Disco ship I didn't want). I actually took a subway to collectible store in the suburbs, but they just had another flagship.

On top of that, at long last, I had a Planet Killer waiting for me when I got home. Now, all I need are two LR-41 batteries to light it up.

Obviously, after a trip like that, money is tight, but I am interested in the T'Plana Hath (the one from First Contact), but I may wait until later.

Follow up on the Planet Killer, I got the batteries, but actually installing them is not as easy as I thought. It's like repairing a watch, you have to actually remove a whole panel. I don't even have tools this small. This could take a while...

they revised the number of Cerritos available this Friday up to over 1300 and are limiting them to 2 per person. I’m guessing you’ll need to still be quick but if you want one you’ll probably be able to get one.

I feel like they're underestimating the demand and should probably limit it to one per person.

I got 2 Vancouvers when they first became available a couple months ago, not thinking there were going to be that many available, especially since the first release of the Cerritos was out of stock within seconds of posting on MR's website (or, so I recall was the case). I was going to flip one on eBay to make up the cost, back when you couldn't touch one for under $400. The market was so insanely saturated by them after they were released, most of them are under or around $100 now. The same for the Cerritos, too, although not quite as expensive as the Vancouver (probably due to the small initial release that dropped the prices a tad). Those are in the $2-300 range right now and are sure to tank in the same way once this big release drops. I think that, if people are getting two of them to make back a little side-scratch, they're going to be woefully disappointed. I will only be getting one this time around.

I think you’re right. 1 per person would be so much better but we’ll see.
Unless they know there are some more coming. I believe they mentioned that for the Stargate F302 that the 1200 unit number represented only half of a normal production run.

I'm pretty sure they're basing the demand from what they saw for The Caretaker's Array and Jubayr, neither of which are the hero ship for a franchise entry.

Better look at the zillion dollar models from Comic Con.

he mentions the SNW sound team made new sound FX for them just for the replica. I'm guessing the stun sound, because I don't think they've fired a stun shot yet in the show.
I think they did in "Lost in Translation", I don't recall it sounding particularly different.
