Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Swearing is fine AFAIK, as long as it isn't excessive.

So the Shipyard book is a collection of the information that gathered for the models?

ben robinson just tweeted a couple things re: the discovery collection:
  • aiming for may for the 3rd issue (the kerala has been reported but he does not mention it by name)
  • mentioned again the first two oversize issues will be the sarcophagus followed by the charon, with the enterprise probably not showing up until next year (he said next season)
  • the subscriber gifts are still in development
this was in response to someone pretty pointedly telling him subscribers would appreciate information from eaglemoss about the second issue, which still doesn't seem to have shipped for subscribers. i know i haven't been billed for the discovery, despite claims by the always reliable members of the facebook fan group that eaglemoss would bill on march 3rd - they didn't.

in the meantime...

The Curry and 22nd C Feregi ship arrived today. The Curry is a thIng of ugly beauty. Nice paint job, and we now finally know how the two main hulls are connected, as well as what the keel looks like. Had no idea there was an extra Miranda impulse engine at the connecting neck. Totally idiotic, yet imaginative design, I love it! Not as good as the Centaur from a kitbash POV, IMO, but it's definitely a work of perverse art.

Don't know if we'll ever see the Raging Queen since and the Curry were so similar, but at least she got several shout outs in the magazine. I do hope we get to see the Hutzel, though. It's the second canonical Starfleet's three-engine design (Wolf 359's Niagara-class USS Princeton being the first).

Wasn’t the Hutzel the Connie saucer with nacelles attached to the neck and no engineering hull?

I think the other three-nacelled design is the “Medusa”.

Am noticing there is a free trial, and an activation. The Canadian flag is there so probably could join it seems.

I got an idea -- when they run out of Trek ships and have to go with what ever pops up in current and future series, how about also doing some props? Full sized ones?

A tricorder, a Federation pin, pips, a data padd, other stuff. Just an idea.

There are so many canon vehicles and notable concepts/licensed ships that the current run could be doubled.
and why stop even when those run out? the XL line seems pretty successful, they've sent out surveys testing the waters for even larger scales, they could redo the entire run in different scales, add electronics, make some out of higher quality materials like the old franklin mint gold and pewter starships. i remember seeing an enterprise-D advertised in the back of one of the old star trek the official fan club magazines that had rubies (or something) for bussard collectors, need i say more?

and yes, i will also take a screen accurate TNG season 5 tricorder from eaglemoss plz.
