Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

8of5 has collected the model's photo on the Trek Collective page:

Speaking of STO and the 1701-F: I played through the Temporal War missions yesterday. I didn't expect a battle between the USS Enterprise-J...and the ISS Enterprise-F!

In-game, the J's captain is a female Trill named Dax. The uniforms of the crew are the Odyssey type, introduced in 2410 and apparently still in use in the 26th century.

Any projections on when we get the model? Winter or spring 2017?

Welp, I made my first eaglemoss ST purchase. Found a U.S.S. Equinox unopened at a local flea market and snagged it for $20. I love it. The detail is great, and the magazine is cool too. The stands are vastly superior to the diamond select ships as well. Its funny bc I think this equinox model is almost inscale with the playmates Voyager that I've had for years. I'm strongly considering setting up a subscription through eaglemoss... OR at the very least buy a few more ships ala cart... :D especially the NX01 refit and the special issue DS9... Although is it just me, or does ops on the model look..... a little odd? Like it's missing something?

I know...without Sisko's baseball, it's not the same, is it?

Actually, it makes sense to me. Why should Starfleet throw their fashions around every few years?

The TWOK uniform was in service from 2280 to 2350, roughly.

This kind of thing is why i'm not a fan of STO. Introduced in 2410 and still in service 100+ years later? Really?

Under the in game uniform code, all uniforms from the history of starfleet are in use at the captains discretion. Assuming that doesn't change...captain Dax must like the oddy era uniform.

Also...thanks for the spoilers...sheesh

Ok I clearly misunderstood, I thought you were saying that the E-J was in use for 100 years. Uniform makes more sense.

Actually, it makes sense for a ship to be in device for a century, too.

Think of a ship having an average life span of eighty years, with regular refits. Then add mature nanite technology that continuously rebuilds and repairs the ship. There's no reason a Universe-class starship couldn't be in service for centuries.

In STO, the Centaur is still kicking butt in 2769.

Forgot about nanites. Theoretically the ship could last forever if the nanites have enough raw materials to rebuild the ship and update the technology every so often.

In case anybody was interested in an update on my subscription since I last updated I still have not received the subscription ships from 2 months ago. Due to new binders being on back-order, they delayed my shipment. The last time I called them (3 weeks ago) I was informed they'd have binders in by now. Called again yesterday to be informed sometime this month. If this takes until next month, I might go ahead and cancel binders and buy what I need off of the online store when they have them back in.

Well, I was determined to find out if I was a) losing my mind or b) the DS9 Eaglemoss model looked a bit...different from the actual station model.....

Well, I google searched images of the station first and the Ops on the eaglemoss model all seemed to look exactly like every photo on google. But then I watched the series on Netflix and finally saw what I was initially referring to when I said ops on the eaglemoss DS9 model looked like it was missing something. On footage from the show, Ops appears to have several antennae/spires sticking out of the top of Ops. These antennae are absent from the Eaglemoss model.

A very minor inconsistency, especially considering the wide range of selection and detail Eaglemoss offers. And this missing detail can certainly be forgiven, especially given Trek's history of merchandise (see: Playmates Enterprise E released for First Contact)

The USS Congo combines the USS Altair with a Universe-class saucer section. It's in the centrefold of the SOTL 2017 calendar.

I managed to snag a brand new, unopened Defiant on Ebay with the delta insignia printed correctly on the left warp nacelle. Only problem is, the deflector at the front has been glued on a bit askew, which is quite annoying. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix that issue without breaking the model? It would be perfect if not for this one problem (and some weird misprinted lights on the underside where there shouldn't be any, but that's a minor issue at most, not bothered by that). Not angry at the Ebay seller or anything, either - couldn't tell from the unopened model in person (at least not very well), and it would be impossible from the pics on Ebay (and had I got it from Eaglemoss, I wouldn't have even been able to know for certain it was a corrected Defiant).

All three lower pylons are dramatically out of alignment. done deliberately by eagle moss so the station can just stand on its own, but its probably one of the biggest errors for a significant portion of a model. The two other major structural errors for models is the Stargazer, it's saucer is a direct copy of the reliant, but in fact the studio model is made up of two of those saucer section put together, and the Negh'Var which is just a total mess.

The Ent-C is a bit of a mess as well.
IYeah the Enterprise C has a bunch of errors on it, most of the structural errors are smaller scale, things like dome on bottom saucer, or lack of impulse engine. and a bunch of applied details are wrong. While it's closer to being accurate to the Ambassador class as scene after yesterday's Enterprise, it still doesn't match those details..

I've got the Enterprise C - for the most part, I don't mind the errors, I'm glad I've got an Ambassador-class starship (and from what I've read, it is perhaps quite literally all of them in one, with the Enterprise C name slapped on it). As for Deep Space Nine, I'm waiting for a 25% off sale for that one so I can save about £5 on it (it still looks really nice despite the pylon issue). Mind you, why would they angle the lower pylons the way they did so it would stand by itself? The schematics for DS9 show that they were flat on the bottom, wouldn't this have allowed the model to stand just fine?

As for my Defiant...any ideas? I have an old one with the Delta insignia error on that I could experiment with first, but I don't want to go ruining my new one.
