Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

It took me a moment to realise you meant the new Intrepid, not Voyager.

I think it helps!
I love it!

Here is another splicing

Hayz-Pawl Dooplawnshay IV photos and comparisons with Eaglemoss models of the new WizKids' Star Trek Into Unknown pack (150$)!
Link (might require Facebook login): https://www.facebook.com/groups/eaglemossstartrekfangroup/permalink/3929065220750125/

Here's two of Hayz-Pawl's photos. The saucer on the WizKids Enterprise-D looks more rounded due to the angle. WizKids is also selling the Enterprise-D on its own. As somebody in the comments posted, it would've been cool if the Galaxy-class ship in the pack was the USS Odyssey.

Observations from the Facebook post:
* Ships have gaping holes on the bottom for the stands. Is worse with small ships like the Defiant.
* Shape/mold is accurate but paintjob is sloppy, esp. on the big D.
* Enterprise-D and its stand allows for displaying saucer section and secondary hull separately.
* They are intended to be gaming miniatures, not collectors' models.
* Thus, the high price accounts for the pack including a game and not just the models.

Personal note:
I got the older WizKids models because they covered some ships that Eaglemoss didn't make early on. I'm tempted by the Jem'Hadar warship because of its size and look (gold accents). I would not play the game, so I'll at least await a sale before I consider grabbing the pack.
As a ship aficionado, the only "must have" aspect of this pack is that the ships are in relative scale to each other.

Thank you, Hayz-Pawl, for posting these!

Haven’t received a shipping notice yet but my card was charged for the Stargazer early this morning.

If it goes out roughly the same day as last month, I should get that shipping notice early next week. Then I can cancel because there isn’t a ship I want until mid-late next year. Assuming the line makes it that far.

No, the Farragut is 3. Enterprise F XL is 4 and Eleos is 5. Unless something has changed.

After Stargazer the next two I’m interested in are the Excelsior mk2 in June or the Obena Class in November but my interest is lukewarm.

I really want the Trumbull next December but I have my doubts that the line makes it there.

I don’t think they have started selling non-subscription ships yet.

Do you think the line will fail?
Unlike Eaglemoss, they'ren't beholden to cover every Trek ship, only the Starfleet/popular ones. I hope the line gets extended so we can get even newer cool stuff, like that purple Starfleet ship from LDS.

Wasn't the story that the Trek line was doing fine in and of itself, it was that Eaglemoss expanded too widely too fast into other monthly collectables? They had one or two dozen lines by the end.
That and the commitment to release every canon ship clashed with the lack of popularity of DSC-based ships, as far as I know.

Yes, they had their fingers in a lot of pies by the end. The Trek line itself did well by all accounts, which is why it has effectively been continued by Fanhome. Although noticeably the prices have increased significantly.

That is what Ben Robinson said, but looking at Master Replicas and Real Merch’s inability to practically give away most of the leftover stock of Trek models (of which there seemed to be an unending supply) gives me doubts.

I’ve probably said it a dozen times in this thread, but Eaglemoss’ demise was probably a combination of:
1. over-expanding into other properties, that the leftover stock of the other stuff seemed to sell better makes me think this was probably not a major contributor
2. moving away from the subscriber model, as doing every shop possible only works financially if you make everyone buy them as part of a subscription
3. going to the mid-size as the default, particularly in combination with the aforementioned switch to the a la carte model, because none of the casuals were buying all of those Disco Klingon/S31 or Picard Romulan ships
4. XL ships that were only marginally larger than the mid-size, this is probably also a minor one, but had to hurt the sales of each

Looks Like the Stargazer is going to be on it's way very shortly. While waiting for the tracking #, I figured I would check out the Titan A and everything Fanhome sent in first shipment.

I love the ship, box, and magazine. The box has some nice graphics of the ship on the outside side panels which show off the ship's profile in all it's glory.

All in all, very similar to eaglemoss design and presentation. The magazines are about the size of the Disco magazines, and I never realized the Titan A was first concepted as a TMP style ship built by Bill Krause as a model in 2015. Definitely see how the Titan A was derived from it. One fun fact: There is no preview of what's coming next at the end of the magazine. For example, in the Disco Line, the USS Shenzou magazine had a tag at the end showing you the USS Discovery was the next issue. Fanhome doesn't do this with their magazines apparently. The last page of the cover was all about the Titan A. No mention of the Stargazer, but the brochure they included did mention upcoming ships, so there is that.

As for the model, I do like it and it blends in well with my collection of Eaglemoss ships. There are a few choices they made which I wish they made differently - namely how they painted the four impulse engines as two orange units. I have seen some people paint the hull line in between the engines and then repaint the impulse engines red and it looks great, but I have no idea how they matched the hull paint color. In terms of window allignment, not terrible but not great. If you can convince yourself that the painted windows are perhaps just lighting from the windows themselves out onto the hull, that just might do the trick until the factories learn how to paint inside the lines.

They included a brochure of things to come - mostly things already announced and info on the XL ships, but still nice to see some things in a new light. Judging by the images they included of the Farragut, the deflector shouldn't be at an angle as we all have seen in the prototype images. At first, I thought maybe the Farragut had a non-stationary deflector dish? Seems that isn't the case and it was indeed a bit...off sides.

Probably smarter, as it doesn't lock them into any particular release order.
Makes sense and let's them pivot if they have to shuffle issue releases around. IIRC, eaglemoss sent me some flier in the Disco line apologizing that the fugly klingon BOP would be skipped temporarily due to logistical /production issues or something of that sort and that I would receieve the next issue instead

starting to get a bit frustrated. It’s probably just normal Christmas shipping delays. But the shipping status on Stargazer hasn’t changed in a week. It’s said “picked up by shipping partner awaiting delivery to USPS” since last Thursday.

Ugh.

Ugh.

Same for mine, trapped in a temporal anomaly in Kansas City.

Hopefully they pull a Generations and she arrives by Tuesday

The Geezer is here!
Fanhome USS Stargazer
compared with STO/GamePrint USS Stargazer-A.

I definitively want to buy another Fanhome model of the Grazer so I can pull the ventral nacelles off and turn it into the Echelon Class.

That's because the USPS is only the "last mile" shipper so the tracking code only works pretty much the day before its actual delivery, after (I believe) UPS delivers it to the local post office

A worthy successor to the Stargazer line. (and Eaglemoss line lol)

When I was re-watching Picard S2 a few weeks back, I remember watching the big reveal of the Stargazer and I couldn't remember if she was the Stargazer A or Stargazer B. Then as the saucer section swooped by, I realized she was neither - She was just the Stargazer with an 8 tacked on to the front of the registry.

In a Universe of Enterprises A through J, Voyagers A through B, etc, it does make me wonder why they went this route instead of the more expected route of adding a letter to the registry. Not that it's a big deal, but it does seem a little.....off.
