Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Yes, it's quite an impressive model, actually. Quite detailed and somewhat accurate. It does have the following problems that I was able to verify (some of which have been mentioned here):
  • Missing all orange RCS thruster markings - not just on the saucer but also the engineering hull and warp nacelles
  • Neck shuttlebays are symmetrical (and shouldn't be)
  • Ridges for windows are detectable around the rim of the saucer and engineering hulls but are not painted in like the other windows for some odd reason
Other than these little things, it's a wonderful model overall and I highly recommend it, even if you're not a fan of the design.

2) The same Memory Alpha page gives the Jumbo Enterprise-E launch date as 31 July 2017. As in, one fortnight from now.

Hi Markonian, I'm the guy who maintains the MA page for the most part (with humongous assistance from the guys on the Unofficial FB Fan Page), happy to try to 'splain.
That's the projected UK release date which is all we track at MA. It just gets too difficult to keep track of the release dates in all the other countries for every issue. So yep, we're aware that it premiered at SDCC. :)

3) It also adds the Jumbo Defiant before the Jumbo Voyager, but there's no source.

That came from Diamond/Previews catalog which lists it as the next Jumbo. As for Voyager, Ben's only said that they're doing it but didn't say when (hence the TBA). No UK release date for the NX-01 yet.

What's faintly ridiculous is that Diamond is our main source for upcoming issues, not EM!

Wow, thank you for the 'splain! Ironic indeed, given that Diamond is short on news about their own widely available ships.

Doesn't look like the Jumbo NX-01 carries the thin red lines on the hull between bridge and deflector. I wonder if it's the same size as the Columbia-class special?

So i just started subscribing in the UK and I'm confused. Basically my second delivery (after the Ent-D) was the Ent- refit and Ent-NX01, which the list on memory alpha says should be magazine issues 2 and 4, but mine are 5 and 8, respectively?

I know I selected to recieve these models first, but have they rejigged the order for the new subscribers?

Depends. What is the numbering of the magazine in the top left corner?
Previous models might be out of stock.

I am now positive when I call for information on my subscription, it's just going to a call center where they can only access a page of basic information. I also believe that it's only the areas served by the PA warehouse that are having difficulty with specifically those seven missing issues and the Franklin. Oh man, I wonder if the Eaglemoss booths at all of the comic conventions are getting complaints?

They may be. If that's the only direct face-to-face outlet customers have outside the call center, it might be just downright uncomfortable to be anywhere near that table. Which is unfortunate, because I don't think those folks have anything to do with order fulfillment and they're taking the brunt of the complaints. Hopefully they will convey the messages they receive up to management and a correction is in the works. The people I've dealt with in the PA office are (sometimes) nice, but as you say, they are either subject to limited information from corporate or may simply be as dumb as a bag of hammers, or both.

My July shipment was delayed but I didn't call Eaglemoss because of the Pennsylvanian reports.
Luckily, D5, Vidiian and Altamid swarm ship arrived today. Yay!

Still, it's a pity that the call center agents in the US lack access to resources to provide, if not resolution, at least information. To maintain customer loyalty both product quality and investment in service options are important. It's what I've learned from my own job. You can't always satisfy the customer, but at least you can provide options.

Based on how this company has done business, it clearly doesn't seem to care about continued subscriber satisfaction. Whenever the online store runs short on stock, they always seem to dig into the subscriber stock to replenish its inventory and leave us twisting in the wind. I've lost count how many times things that were listed as delayed or out-of-stock for the subscribers were readily available (at a 30%+ markup) on the online store. The E-J and USS Franklin special are perfect (and most recent) examples of this, and there have been others before that. I guess they assume that the subscribers are die-hard fans and locked-in no matter how much we get abused by their distribution policies. They may be right, though. I have no intention of stopping my sub, because I want them. They know this, because I'm sure I'm not the only one (just the only poor dumb bastard willing to admit it), which is why they don't care.

The Star Trek Vegas convention schedule has been posted & there a couple of things Ben Robinson is set to be at.

The description for one I'm definitely going to is on next Saturday from 11:30am to 12:25pm Pacific.

"Discover the Starships Collection " Eaglemoss's Ben Robinson and Star Trek concept designer John Eaves reveal what it takes to design a starship and offer a sneak peek at unseen models in the Star Trek The Official Ships Collection including the discovery of more ships.

I wonder if discovery if used as a hint there....

Those were the numbers on the magazine, 5 and 8.

Ah, so the official order remains unchanged but they send you the ships based on...their warehouse stock?

Speaking of that, my July shipment did not arrive as usual around the 15th here in England, so I sent an email. No reply, but the shipment arrived on the 27th.

And today I received the August shipment. The neighbors took it in yesterday, so that's extremely early. Absolute exstatic about having a classy Fed ship (Sydney-class), and probably the coolest redress of an old TNG model: the Amarie-class smuggler's heavy escort.

Since I purchased my first shuttle models, I kept thinking that upscaled shuttles make the best freighters, passenger and cargo ships - basically stylish boxes with nacelles and geeblies. The Sydney-class is the perfect example.

There was an offer as part of the subscription that you get the Ent Refit and Ent NX01 as your second package out of sync, and then the rest just carry on and obviously miss those ones out. Everything I've seen online says they were issues 2 & 4 respectively, but the magazines that came with them say they are numbers 5 and 8.

I just got my August shipment of the smugglers ship and jenolan and was surprised by how early it was, I'm sure I only put the Vidian ship and Klingon D5 up a few weeks ago. I have to say I wasn't that bothered by the smugglers ship but it looks pretty cool. The jenolan however, I agree, is absolutely stunning. I really was looking forward to this ship and it really delivered. It has easily made it on to my top 16 ships to display. I have always been fascinated with the jenolan ever since 'relics' and I never knew that it was a reuse of the SD-103 from undiscovered country

News:

Memory Alpha lists the USS Curry (DS9 Frankenfleet) and the 22nd century Ferengi marauder as January releases (UK). Interestingly, that means we have a Galaxy-class derived ship each month from October till December.

Deep Space K-7 is given with a release date of 31 August 2017. If accurate, that would be the shortest release between two Specials (2 months since June's USS Franklin). Still no word on any ST09 Starfleet ships (Armstrong, Mayflower, Newton) or the new Enterprise-A.

I picked up the Rhode Island yesterday. It was the latest ship available at my regular store. I was hoping they'd have the Daedalus but I guess not yet.

I'm struck by how lightweight it is. Not the most exciting ship, especially since I already have the Equinox, but well done.

I purchased the USS Equinox on eBay and unfortunately the plastic stand did not come with it. Seller has no clue what happened to it. Is it possible to purchase the stand from Eaglemoss?
