Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Ah, thanks-- I'd never seen those pictures of the Buckner model before. Yeah, there are definitely some differences!

Well she may not be perfect, but the Negh'Var leads the Klingons fleet anyway

(yeah, not a great shot, but you get the idea)

I think what bothers me most about the Nehg'var is that up to this point the klingon ships have been really solid models.

I am also surprised to date on which ships have had the larger number of sizable errors in production.

I would have expected to see short cuts taken on ships like the Nausicaan fighter as an example then ships like the Negh'Var, Stargazer, nebula Class, etc.

It's possible that all these ships except the Negh'var were CG'd for DS9 and Enterprise by Hutzel's team. The Negh'var may have been thrown together long after for this publication and was the only practical filming miniature that wasn't already scanned and converted.

I believe this is the case, as the K'Tinga was CGI creation for Voyager's Flashback, the Bird of Prey and Vorcha were done for DS9's Sacrifice of Angels (Bird of Prey might have been done earlier then that episode for DS9) and the 22nd century ships were CGI for Enterprise of course.

But even so it's pretty sloppy. And yes we can expect more errors on any ship that wasn't doe in CGI with lightwave (which doesn't include insurrection as they used different software, and no longer have their files).

Heck even with CGI files, they have still managed to completely skip any details on the aft section of the Nebula class. Now I understand they need a seam, but that doesn't mean that they could''t have had detail and the seam (that did bother me as its a huge removal of any detail, as opposed to just getting details wrong).

News: Three pictures of the Galileo have been posted on Facebook.

Link?
I am no longer on Facebook but curious...

This is the link to the post on Facebook. It should be visible without logging in:

On the size of the Centaur (great model, btw), the ship is the same size as a Miranda-class frigate in Star Trek Online, and the components (saucer, pylons/rollbar, nacelles) are interchangeable.

Shot an email off to Eaglemoss regarding the American subscriber Borg Cube a few days ago and finally got a response last night. They didn't say anything regarding the issues with customs, but they did say the cubes are supposed to come out with the July shipment.

Really?! Well, that's very cool and very good news! Thanks very much for the update. Was starting to think we would never see them...

I can confirm for the US that the Defiant is now fixed with the signage all going the correct way.

When I started my 3rd subscription I started it when the other was already at 40, so I was hoping that maybe, just maybe some off the mistakes would get fixed as the run out of the original stock.

Well, lessee. Just got issues 43 (8472 Bioship) & 44 (Intrepid) earlier in the week. Assuming that you're talking about shipments in the U.S. and assuming that the info Eaglemoss gave Kevman7987 is correct and it does come in July, it should be expected with issues 45 (Malon Tanker) & 46 (Enterprise-C), somewhere between July 1 and July 8. However, judging by how slow these things can often be when they're outside of the mainstream subscription line (the 3-Engine AGT Enterprise-D special comes to mind here), I would more likely expect them with issues 47 (Negh'var) & 48 (Armored Voyager) in August from the 3rd to the 7th. That's my guess.

It all really depends if the core shipments made it into the country finally, and it doesn't sound like they were willing to volunteer that information either way.

Thanks. :techman: I should have been more specific and stated that I was referring to the US market. I just couldn't remember what their website stated about the "free" items (plaque, AGT and Borg Cube) and when in the subscription you would get them. That webpage isn't around anymore is it?

edit: Never mind, I found the old subscription page and it states the Cube (is supposed to) come with your 18th shipment.

The Klingon Augment's ship from "Affliction" will be coming up in a couple of issues. After that, if they cover the D5 and D7, that'll pretty much cover all the Klingon ships from all the movies and series. (Well, technically, there was one in "Bounty", but I'm not too concerned about that).

Here's hoping they get 'em all!

Not sure if anyone cares, but I did this last night to my Enterprise-C. :)

I know the lower saucer looks a bit crappy, I'll probably redo that with some more exaggerated details but until then, I'm mighty happy with how mine has turned out.

They would need to do both the standard and tanker variant of the D5 to be fully complete. :D

I actually want both too. And I would be willing to get the klingon shuttle and the larger ship that hold's archer shown in bounty. For me the more the merrier.
