Star Trek/Stargate crossover possibility

Has an Iconian gateway ever been seen on screen? There are similarities to the stargate network to the Iconian gateway network, and on Star Trek, they've never gotten it to work

Imagine if a wormhole opened with an SG team stepping out of it just as an away team from the Enterprise beamed down.

I don't think an SG/ST crossover could work believably. I'm happy enough with the little Trek references in Stargate (from the obvious ones like "We can't call it the Enterprise, sir!" and "You are Kirk!" to the subtle ones like Rodney having TOS sideburns)

Then make it a Voyager episode. Have Destiny drop out of FTL into a fleet of Borg cubes, make The Doctor appear on Destiny's bridge after the 'gate engages then disengages briefly.

Realism has never stopped the Destiny or Voyager production teams.

Err... I mean Universe or Voyager. Star Trek has ruined me! The show is supposed to be named after the ship lol

If memory serves, on fanfiction.com there's a fanfic (Impossible, I hear you say ) which takes the events of The Chase and slots in Sam Carter instead of the ancient humanoids. Long story short, the Tau'ri are responsible for humanoid life.

It's interesting cause rather then try to weld the two series into one misshapen mess, it folds one into the history of the other. If properly done on screen, it'd be pretty interesting to watch

Are you kidding? Did you see the one with the Yamato blowing up? An Iconian gateway played a big part in that episode.

Yes, in TNG's "Contagion" and DS9's "To the Death".

There are similarities to the stargate network to the Iconian gateway network,

The differences far outweigh the similarities, which are superficial at best.

Imagine if a wormhole opened with an SG team stepping out of it just as an away team from the Enterprise beamed down.

A stargate connecting to an Iconian Gateway doesn't really make any sense.

Now you could still have a crossover story that makes use of the Iconian gateway. The Stargate team can find such a gateway on a planet, go through it for some reason (I don't know why they would, but whatever), and end up popping out of another gateway in an alternate universe and a few hundred years in the future.

Yes, I said alternate universe. The Stargate and Star Trek universes being the same just doesn't make any sense, even if you ignore the Trek references in Stargate. They are completely incompatible.

I love Stargate.
I love Star Trek.

I do not like this idea.

While the idea does seem a bit too fanwanky for my tastes, I could enjoy such a story if it was good enough.

Stargates and Iconian gateways are completely different. Iconanian gateways can transport you anywhere, regardless of if the destination has its own gateway or not. Stargates need anotther gate at the destination in order to operate.

Season 8 was dreadful, but season 9 and 10 are not bad at all if you give them a chance. I wasn't overly sold on S9 the first time around, but I appreciate it more and more each time I watch it.

Season 8 was dreadful, but season 9 and 10 are not bad at all if you give them a chance. I wasn't overly sold on S9 the first time around, but I appreciate it more and more each time I watch it.

Season 9 and 10 aren't bad if you go into them realizing that it's become quite a different show, but if you go in hoping it's the same, you'll be disappointed. I don't recall Season 8 being particularly dreadful, but it wasn't memorable either. The only thing I really remember about it is Moebius, which was a great episode, at least in my opinion.
