Star Trek - Star Wars

i think this film definitly had a star wars feel to it . from the music , to the aliens , even the phaser fight between kirk and spock and the romulans looked more like blasters than phasers.i thought pine seemed more like han solo or even luke skywalker than kirk.
after the film was over there were about a dozen or so fans outside the theatre talking about the film and the general consensus amongst them that it was more like wars than trek too.i still enjoyed it though.

Maybe a little, with Kirk being stranded on the snowy planet Delta Vega. And Scottys ewok pet. But that was all.

Only Episode 4 & 5 were better than Star Trek IMO.

There's quite a bit more to it even than that. I really can't give a fair comparison w/o screen caps, but there are a lot of little things that seemed to plopped right out of Star Wars. It got to the point were I did a bit of eye rolling.

Also, I'm surprised with all the people with the blinders on ready to declare this so much better than the prequels. Say what you will about them, they were actually real pieces of cinematic art. This, for the most part, wasn't. Also, the Wars PT had one thing this movie clearly lacked: a plot. They just took a bunch of story elements and daisy chained them together to pass as a plot.

I know it's really popular to rip Lucas a new one, but at least he presented an actual story.

I didn't see any Star Wars in this one. Don't know what the rest of you are on.

Sure, Lucas presented a "story" if you will, his dialogue just plain sucks and destroys his movies. I can't ever sit through one of the prequels without eye rolling at the stupid dialogue. He had too much CG that looked like CG in his prequels as well.

If anything, STXI is kinda like OT SW, but that's reaching still.

The Star Wars prequels sucked, but I think that they tied in with the originals much more neatly than Star Trek ties in with any previous Trek.

That's the point.
