This stuff gets lost in the billions of categories that the Grammy Awards has, but "Star Trek" was nominated in the Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category. Giacchino received 4 nods in total, the other three for "Up" in the same category as above, plus Best Instrumental Composition and Best Instrumental Arrangement, for the heartbreaking montage at the beginning of the film and the end credits, respectively.
Personally, I hope Giacchino wins for "Up". The score was beautiful. "Star Trek" was good, but not as impressive. I really hope he wins for "Married Life" in Best Instrumental Composition. That sequence was really well done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeLgjGEBWcY (watch/listen to it if you haven't before).Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media
