Dang. For a moment I thought that read "swingers". Anyhoo, I voted Spock since he was rockin' it in "The Way to Eden".

Even better in this pre-MTV bit of goodness:

They need to find the original film negs and remaster them so that the text on the circles are legible...

And, yup, there's a young Erin Gray - a decade before her Colonel Deering role...

Let's store this in Hanger 18 along with all those copies of the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Sisko has a fantastic voice (as does Avery Brooks in real life!).

I'd definitely rank him over what we saw from Uhura during the series.

I yield and stand corrected. Add Sisko to the list.

I like Bones singing. Does this count as in-universe?

Uhura, Sisko and The Doc.

Vic was meant to be a singer, in this case no vote from me.

Seven was also fine with You are my sunshine..... or Data with Blue Skies....

When did Bashir sing?

I'm surprised that, especially with up to 3 picks, there were NO votes for Data! I know I like to knock Nemesis for being the worst Trek movie, but Data's "gift to the happy couple" was actually really poignant and showcased Brent Spiner's voice really well. I'll post a link below to the full cover version of Blue Skies by Data from the expanded Nemesis soundtrack, I highly recommend listening to it all the way through (as a matter of fact, halfway through the track, listen for a trombone which I am convinced in my head canon is Riker joining in with Data and the band).

I think it was the early '90s, Brent Spiner released an album of old standards called "Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back." Not bad. It's rather rare and expensive now.

Now that Jurati is on the poll, I added a vote for her. Hopefully this doesn't spoil anything, but I thought her singing was great. But that scene kind of messed up the flow of the story. :p

I loved it whenever Uhura sang in the series, and in TFF.

I nearly went for Vic Fontaine but thought that Kira had a nice voice when she sang Fever in His Way.

Finally, the Doctor was usually good when he sang.

IIUC, it seems to fit all the criteria to be canonized. I am imagining the producers knowing about that when writing ST: Q&A.

She was on there from the get-go!

Now I suppose we could also add:
La'an, singing with her pup.

Since I couldn't add a poll to the original thread, here's a revamped one that will let our singers rise - or fall - based on the whims, adoration and personal biases of us the fans.

Haters of modern Trek have gone ballistic when characters have broken into song in any of the newest series, but Trek singing has a long & semi-glorious history. If we compile a list from all Trek series, it covers a lot of our favs. I KNOW I’m forgetting some, so please add to the list! And who is the best singer?

Data and Seven are obviously the best. Followed by Spock.

Now THAT would be a symphony!

I think Brent Spiner had soooo much talent that it would have been arguably impossible for that generation to ignore. Even with the classic "British face-acting" that Frakes said about his first encounter with Stewart.
