Star Trek: Section 31: Disavowed - Dec. 2014?

I don't know that it has. All I know is that I had an idea for a Section 31-themed story, and I asked for it to be marketed as such. The editors agreed. It was no more complicated a process than that.

So this is a stand alone (one off) novel or does it connect and reference to other books?

Would someone mind reminding me what happens to Bashir after Ceremony of Losses? I honestly forget.

It will be interesting to see how the book picks up the Sarina/Bashir story. After all, we still haven't actually "seen" when Sarina told him about her "real" career, and her apparent "true" motivations. IMANSHO, I think some showing, rather than telling in a "filler" exposition, is long overdue. (Perhaps a flashback?) And putting that aside, there are a LOT of questions about her motivations and methods, as I had often brought up before my sabbatical (as it were) from the BBS.

Also, I wonder if there are any plans to follow up on Ezri and Bashir? I know--it's all too common with yours truly, but...in my defense, as you know, A Ceremony Of Losses in particular provided some nice meat for shippers like myself to chew on (their teasing each other about the "threat" of their falling in love again).

He was "rescued" from prison due to a ploy by Vale, Troi and the Andorians, who formally named him an Andorian citizen and a legal member of a prominent Andorian clan. So he's on Andor. As Julian Subatoi Bashir ke'Nuillan.

I'm assuming it's akin to the position Kirk and co were in at the start of The Voyage Home? Currently sheltered by a (once again) Federation member government but having to come out and face the music eventually. It was better than being left to rot in a distant prison run by Ishan's people...

I cannot wait for this to come out. I've already taken the day off from work. A new David Mack novel release is like an extra Christmas.

Anyone who's reading this today (Thursday, October 9, 2014) — if you're going to be at New York Comic Con, there will be special advance copies of DISAVOWED available for purchase at the con! Also, stop by the Simon & Schuster pavilion, Booth #1828, today from 3PM–4PM. Kevin Dilmore and I will be signing and chatting with fans.

Wow, David, way to be a tease. :(

I actually did make it to NYCC once a couple years back, but it happily coincided with a relative getting married. Best coincidence ever.

Is there any chance the New York comic con is actually being held in Philadelphia? If so, then I'm there. Otherwise, someone transport me one please

There were still a fair number of copies left when I departed the Javits Center this evening. Not sure how long they'll last. But all have been signed. If someone buys them and wants them personalized, they'll have to catch me after my Saturday night panel.
