Star Trek regains #1 spot on Saturday and Sunday

That is awesome! Too bad Angels & Demons did strong enough on the Friday that it was able to stay ahead of Trek overall for the weekend. I bet you Star Trek will stay No. 1 until Terminator Salvation opens on Thursday and will be one of the longest No. 1's for the entire summer!

I honestly have hoped for this kind of mainstream success for a very, very long time. This is absolutely amazing.

What amazes me about the numbers is how Star Trek regained the #1 spot on Saturday, the day of the week that has most movie viewers.

A nice surprise.

Whoa the jump between Friday and Saturday is pretty striking. I wonder what's the reason for that. Is Angels and Demons not getting great word of mouth?

And just think...we were arguing about nacelles and Damons before anyone. Makes ya proud.

This is great, although when Terminator Salvation and Night @ the museum 2 (blah) hits theaters it'll be dropped down signifigantly. It should still make enough money to probably make it to abouit 250 million I would think, at the minimum of 220 million.

It is one rotten tomato to be sure...

Terminator Salvation is currently at 25%, granted only with 8 reviews, but still.
When Trek was at 8 reviews, it was at 100% so...

I think T4 will kick ass given the leaked spoilers I've read, but it won't be as kewl as TREK's been. No way.

Two weeks ago, in my most wildly optimistic dreams, I never thought the movie would do half this well. I'm so happy. :)

The Tuesday numbers are in and Star Trek has passed Wolverine! Sweetness! Now if it could only hold up against Terminator, but the reviews are gonna have to be really bad to tear down that machine (pardon the pun).

It probably wasn't hard to pass Wolverine, I'm not sure but I don't remember hearing X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a huge success.

I'm pretty excited to see how it will fare against the Terminator. They're both household name science fiction franchises being "rebooted" and they both seem to be having a simimar ammount of TV Advertising, so it will be interesting to see the results

Probably because most people who saw it opening weekend told their friends not to bother.

Wolverine is a moderate success and should clear $300 million worldwide after this weekend, but it definitely not as successful as the previous X-Men films.
