"Crimson & Clover" by Broken Bells, inspired me to subject you all to, yet, another poem. Obviously, this refers to an Irish redhead. And TNG has one, too. I'm sure you'll agree, this song really is quite good ...

Simply Premium! And, I must say, The Darlin' Lass was, by far, my favorite Star Trek Lady. Ever. Of all the Incarnations. Oops, Check That! Second Favorite. My first love and best love, of course, is The Lady, Herself:

As a 1st for me, in the STAR TREK poetry thread, I'm also offering an Alternative Version. Initially, I thought having two "dark" poems in a row might've been a bit much, so I published a chipper version (CV) of this one on my flickr account, first ... which some unknown woman actually liked and commented on. I don't really care for it, but that's just me. So, as the CV made one girl happy enough to let me know what effect it had on her, here it is, in all of it's "glory," if you like:

Zelda Fitzgerald was a socialite and novelist, the wife of author F. Scott Fitzgerald, who wrote The Great Gatsby, amongst other famous works. He was the totality of her existence and I've been reading up on them. Interestingly enough, Zelda not only inspired her Husband, she also inspired a vintage band named The Eagles to write a song about her called: "Witchy Woman." It is to women like her and to literary aspiration, itself, that I do dedicate this prose:

As STAR WARS has the boards buzzing, recently, The Muse inspired me to craft this latest offering, based upon that popular franchise ...

One day, my father shocked the shit out of me
He bought a slave to call his wife, named Shmi
I said, "that's messed up! You're pathetic, Dad!"
He went nuts - chewing the carpet - he got so mad
I said "'F' this shit" and headed off to see Beru
A simple, milking maid - the prettiest I ever knew
I didn't tell her about the slave-thing, though
I kept that to myself - she didn't need to know
Beru always makes me feel better, when I'm down

But, Shmi liked picking mushrooms off the ground
And, of course, the Sandpeople had to kidnap her
Dad lost his leg over it and was almost captured
So, Shmi's prodigal son Annie decides to stop by
Finds his mum, saves her & Shmi suddenly dies!
He then takes her cadaver back to my Dad's house
Wrapped it in linens and threw her on the couch
Beru never sat on it again, she was so put off ...
We buried Shmi in the yard, right next to the dog

With a new designation
In reviewing this thread
And it’s rhyme incarnations

In starting this thread
Star Date 47634.44
He had no idea
It would grow to much more

He remembers the day
He joined this Place
He remembers all those
Who put smiles on his Face

So much more Trek
Has beamed into view
Most manage, mostly,
To the Canon be true

So give way to the cadence
Give rhyme-beat a try
Seek out strange, new (uni)verses
Couplet, Warp Speed, let’s Fly!!!

Please take some time to refresh your memory regarding the posting rules here. They are pinned at the top of this forum.

Specifically, the one about resurrecting dead threads. This one has been dead for 7 years. Let's let it rest in peace, shall we?

Thanks.
