"Dill."Kirk basically telling Picard to go pound sand because he's generations older than Jean-Luc and Kirk wants to have breakfast with the woman he loves was worth the price of admission.
Peak moment.

And GEN is a fun movie for me and I like it. It's got more warts than an elderly frog but Shatner and McDowell sell that movie with so much charm and oomph that it'll always be rewatchable to me.
The goal posts...they're always changing...Its interesting that seeing people being beheaded, and stabbed through the torso with such force blood sprays out is considered 'kicking arse'. When another trek spin off was doing similar things it was called 'grimdark' and 'dystopian' and considered 'not true star trek'. It's just interesting is all.
When "another" Trek spin-off was doing it? When THIS Trek spin-off was doing it! I guess it's okay if it's Worf and not a Romulan elf.Its interesting that seeing people being beheaded, and stabbed through the torso with such force blood sprays out is considered 'kicking arse'. When another trek spin off was doing similar things it was called 'grimdark' and 'dystopian' and considered 'not true star trek'. It's just interesting is all.
Without question. The cinematography of GEN may be the best in the entire movie franchise.
I think the bridge was too dark.Without question.
It's amazing to me that 'the one that's basically a TV movie" was able to snag the guy who did Chinatown.
A friend pointed out to me that Raffi's ex-husband was said to be a painter in one of the novels, and low and behold, in this episode he's covered in paint. So that must have been a detail the author was given.
It's okay when the sets are brightly lit.Its interesting that seeing people being beheaded, and stabbed through the torso with such force blood sprays out is considered 'kicking arse'. When another trek spin off was doing similar things it was called 'grimdark' and 'dystopian' and considered 'not true star trek'. It's just interesting is all.
I wonder if there is a specific crime that Jack committed which Vadic has a personal interest in.Plus it's only Jack and Beverly on that ship. How could she not know what he's been doing? I'm surprised Vadic didn't demand her too as an accessory to his crimes.
Oh, my heart still hurts when the D crashes. Such a gorgeous ship, she deserved more films. It's worth it to see Picard and Kirk have a chat. For that alone. I think it's one of the more lavish looking Trek movies too. The Enterprise D sets never looked Moore beautiful.
Neither fireproof or Turtletrekker were talking about pre-2016 trek thoSo, yes, there definitely are some goal posts being moved. Just not the ones implied. But whatever helps you sleep at night.

"IT'S OKAY, THESE EXTRAS AREN'T PAID TO LISTEN!"Raffi, in a crowd of people, on a shady planet full of criminals: I'M WITH STARFLEET INTELLIGENCE, DON'T TELL ANYONE, IT'S A SECRET THAT I'M WITH STARFLEET INTELLIGENCE, I'M A SPY BUT KEEP IT QUIET OKAY?
Vadic: And you know what Captain Shaw? This is the ship that killed Ambassador Spock!SHE ONCE SERVED WITH AMBASSADOR SPOCK! THAT'S WHERE SHE LEARNED TO SHOUT!
