:guffaw:

I know you meant 'ropey'. It just made me laugh!

No, I did mean rapey! I was specifically thinking of a time I watched "Is There In Truth No Beauty?", and all our male heroes can't stop surrounding Diana Muldaur and telling her what a hot piece of ass she is. It felt like the lead-up to a gang rape at the start of a Law & Order: SVU episode.

I followed it with the Disco with that infamous Georgiou/Culber/Stamets scene -- "You know he's gay, right?" "Don't be so binary, in my universe he was pansexual..."

Quite the jarring transition! But I do somehow love the conceit that these are the same universe 10 years removed.

Yes, it is an acronym, just like Nasa. National Aeronautics Space Administration.

Because NASA is a word you can say and pronounce, UESPA isn't (or at least one we don't say as a word and say the letters of, like FBI.) Acronyms form words.

Kirk said YOU-SPA in “Charlie X”; he didn’t spell out UESPA.
Captain's Log, star date 1535.8. UESPA headquarters notified of the mysterious loss of science probe vessel Antares.

Been a long time since I've seen that one.

He really says it? That seems odd because looking and it it just doesn't look like a word you can say and like one you kinda have to clumsily say like "You-Spa."

You like the EU makes sense, I had imagined Wespa out of it. Easy enough to make a pronunciation out of it.

I always called it YOU-EH-SPA. Might not actually be correct but always sounded good in my head.
