I've got a thought:

How come life-altering super technology that would change the narrative forever in Star Trek never gets brought up again? :p

The Genesis Device got mentioned once after 1986 and that was in "The Omega Directive(VOY)." Other than that, nothing.

That's an argument against it being naturalistic dialogue. If she's awkward/cringey the whole time then it's more like making the character conform to a specific TV archetype/role than being a more nuanced human being.
In real life people might be awkward/geeky, or they might be confident, wise-crackers. But when they happen to have a sobering moment, something extremely serious, in my experience they tend to act differently.
It depends largely on the person. I am a person who, in the face of death, often will make jokes. And this comes on the heels of being told this past week a client that I had worked closely with had passed away. And yet I wanted to make a joke.

For me, when things come across as awkward or cringey it actually feels more realistic, rather than less. But, that might be me because I feel awkward and cringey a lot of the time.

This was a great episode, after all the build up it was nice to finally get some real sold answers. It's been pretty obvious from the beginning the Zhat Vash was going to be behind the Mars attack, but it was still nice to find out for sure.
Raffi mistaking the ENH for the real Rios was pretty good, it was inevitable that was going to happen eventually.
The whole Rios and his captain was pretty shocking. Does the fact that Jana apparently looked like Soji and Dahj mean that of the females look identical? We also apparently have male versions too, since she was with a guy.
I wonder if Maddox built all of them or if they've been making more themselves?
I wonder if we'll see any familiar faces when Starfleet shows up?

Its probably no accident that we didn't see the male synth because he was the one drawing, we have probably already seen another version of him.

So as of right now there are only two Queens left from Data's poker hand; Soji & another.

1. Dahj is dead.
2. Jana is dead.
3. Beautiful Flower is dead.
4. Soji is alive.
5. Unnamed is alive.

I hope we get to see Unnamed in the finale and they don't drag this story out unnecessarily.

It's Juice Newton.

Hmmm... There are 2 unnamed ones left, theoretically: Jana's twin, BF's twin. So either one of them gets fridged, I mean, dies a meaningful death that will inspire lots of chacter development, or maybe the queens are only the female ones we encounter?

Am I the only one who won't miss Narissa? That character always annoyed the hell out of me. She was a caricature of a two-dimensional villain. Between the first episode and this one, she had no character development whatsoever. She was like any evil witch, queen or sorceress in a Disney cartoon.

Narissa is like the Corona virus: much hated but not easily got rid off....

She has an apple and loom with your name on them

In real life twins don't all have to be the same gender. So I'm just going to assume Beautiful Flower looks like a male version of Dahj/Soji/Jana. I'm also going to assume that each Queen from Data's poker hand represents a single synth and not its gender. This leads me to believe the final synth will be portrayed by Brent Spiner with Data being his (dead) twin. Will this skinjob Data have Data's memories? That I will not guess.

Nope. She is just so boring. She has no chemistry with anyone and I can't even love to hate her. The villains this season just aren't that compelling, but she's a particular low point.

It's a big universe. Does everything have to be connected to something? Can't they ever discovery something new?

Okay, it's not the Tkon Empire, it's the Cooleddie Colonies. And they didn't die 600,000 years ago, they died 600,000 years and 1 day ago. And instead of long gray hair, they have short red hair. There, completely different now.

And they don't wear pants.

The Qo'noS one was worse. That was under 5 minutes.
Nero's arrival led to the invention of transwarp drive so in the future the USS Voyager will take 70 minutes to get home and trips to the Gamma Quadrant will be done in 90 minutes instead of 90 years?

Picard isn't some nobody off the street. He didn't get promoted to Admiral for nothing. She should be professional to him over matters that aren't just about Picard but have a broader bearing on Federation interests and rise above political disagreements. Clancy is a prideful, petty woman in that scene.
So she behaves like the average Star Trek human admiral? Marcus, Morrow, Satie etc

They had trans warp beaming. Something that was never fully explained and changed meaning from the first movie to the next but I don’t think they had faster warp travel.
