Same with some liking the idea that it was the events of First Contact which created the Mirror Universe, which ties in with the idea of Nero's trip back in time creating the Kelvin Universe.Head canon: The time travel tech is unreliable and has to be right by a stellar object. And stay by a stellar object.
So its really only good for what we saw. Going back in time and assimilating it. And of course doing so could mess up their entire timeline.
ORRRRRRR the ENTIRE point of First Contact was to close a predestination loop, Remember in ENT, its implied the drones alert the Borg to Earths presence, hence the last ep of TNG S1
Perfect dead centre between the Alpha and Beta more or less.So Earth is right by the Beta Quadrant? Interesting. Never paid attention to theoretical Trek maps.
yes, the border between Alpha and Beta quadrants goes right though Sector 001So Earth is right by the Beta Quadrant? Interesting. Never paid attention to theoretical Trek maps.

Great episode! Loved the flashback pics. Note that we've now seen the Enterprise-E, D, and original (hologram) in this show. Can we all agree that the statement put out by the showrunners that "you won't see the Enterprise" was essentially a red herring? I think the actual 1701-E will show up toward the end of the season.
If you like Hugh don't go near the Episode 1x07 chapter thread.
Why do you assume EMH didn't activate? It did, Maddox died regardless. And I'm sure the computer logs show that too. How much time you wanted them to spend going through the exact details? It is not important. As I clarified in my edit: In Trek, asking why the EMH didn't activate would be our equivalent of, hypothetically, why wasn't the auto-defibrillator working? Anyone would ask that.
If Agnes said the EMH glitched, Rios would check it the way even if a doctor told me the AED glitched, we'd be checking to see how that could happen.
It was almost fully repaired by end of Nemesis. If you go by the book as canon-like material, E-E was still in service with Picard in command as late as 2381Wasn't it badly damaged by Shinzon's ship? It would make more sense to have constructed an Enterprise-F than to repair that wreck.
wasn't that the whole premise of In the Pale Moonlight?Edit: That would make a nice flashback scene. The Romulans arguing in senate about sending help. Some laughing saying "Let Earth burn. Let Starfleet headquarters get scooped into space."
And another guy saying "And who is going to be next?? We're only 100 light years away."
Yeah I cocked up there a bit, should have used spoiler tags from the start.Too late for me, but rest of you can still save yourselves
They trust Jurati and have no reason to doubt her version of events. As I clarified in my edit: In Trek, asking why the EMH didn't activate would be our equivalent of, hypothetically, why wasn't the auto-defibrillator working? Anyone would ask that.

She was being repaired at the end of NEM, and according to the tie-in novel, apparently, she's still out there.Wasn't it badly damaged by Shinzon's ship? It would make more sense to have constructed an Enterprise-F than to repair that wreck.
I had difficulty with Picard's enormous PTSD in the show after no sign of it for decades but his Irumodic Syndrome may be exaggerating whatever symptoms he had suppressed with 24th century medicine.
-Nerdiest statement I've made in years.
They could have been using word play, we haven't seen the Enterprise (NX01) so far all we have seen is the 1701, 1701 D and E.Great episode! Loved the flashback pics. There is some tie in media that opens up the possibility of an Enterprise F but its non canon for now.Wasn't it badly damaged by Shinzon's ship? It would make more sense to have constructed an Enterprise-F than to repair that wreck.
Ok at this point we're at an impasse. I remember people questioning us and management about my coworker's heart attack and death and then checking everything and clearing out our entire aisle (!) for inspection. That's far more than Rios is shown to have done. So my viewpoint is based on reality and real experiences. Maybe it's just best we moved on to another topic as this debate isn't getting anywhereThey trust Jurati and have no reason to doubt her version of events.
Perhaps they should have dedicated a whole episode for going through the medical logs and updating the medical emergency procedures?Ok at this point we're at an impasse.
