Star Trek Phase II urgently needs support

Hi Willie,

Money is so short there is talk of selling sets and putting stuff in storage. From my personal (not the official view of STP2) this could well mean the end of Star Trek Phase II.

Financial support is urgently needed: http://forums.startreknewvoyages.com/index.php?topic=12661.0;topicseen

There's always talks of selling OLD sets, such as the OLD part of the bridge that was sold and is gone, or the other half of the OLD part of the bridge that will soon be replaced, or the OLD transporter console we just replaced with the NEW transporter console and one day the OLD Jeffries Tube that we plan on replacing with the NEW slightly wider, easier to maintain Jeffries Tube (and so on). And stuff goes into storage each year. And then out of storage. And then back in.

And we're always in quick need of help when a shoot nears. Nothing new there either. With a shoot ongoing, things are very tight (as always).

Hope that explains things.

Best,
Rob

Uh, what? ....
So... I am not sure why you'd think that anything different is going on.

^^^Did you read the link the OP posted?

Well, there's been no recent talk of selling anything (as Rob said, the "old" parts of the bridge and the transporter console have previously been sold), so I am not sure where that rumor started. We are NOT selling anything! (not even uniforms right now).... but there IS a desperate need for cash.... as EVERY fan film experiences as episodes are produced.

Today is Day 1 of our latest venture... shooting a "The Wild Wild West" episode, and therefore our expenses are high right now... moving equipment, buying plane tickets and paying for lodging, building sets and costumes, etc....so, yes, we need anyone's help that can afford it.

Yes, the link above will detail that we are actively looking for people to commit to helping to pay studio expenses. As we are purchasing the studio building from the previous owner, we have to pay the taxes four times a year. (state, city, town and school) and every tax bill requires a dip into our pockets. If we get more monthly contributors that problem can be solved.

Patty.... another "official voice".

Please, folks, do NOT panic.

I made the referenced post at 3 PM ET 1 November 2011. By 7:15 PM EDT same date we have raised 66.6% of the required amount.

YES, Phase II DID appeal to our myriad fans as well as our crew! Once again, these wonderful people are aiding Phase II willingly with contributions!

Positive experience has shown, time and again, that the Phase II fans DO support our efforts and DO support our needs WHEN WE ASK!

Again, we at Phase II are awed by the support of our fans and our crew members!!!

So, fans and crew, continue the adventure ...

Glad to hear you've gotten most of what you need. With the economy the way it is, I have to admit I was worried about the future of Phase II. I hope you got everything you need to keep on Trekkin'.

I double-checked my listing to make sure I had the links to the donation page both on your standard page and on your current Headline at Star Trek Reviewed.

Sorry if I sounded panicked. Uh, well, I was. I know that STP2 lives on donations, and has no reserve or big pocket spenders. I wish we could just get enough small supporters to support us in an ongoing way. If we got a few bucks from everyone who downloaded an episode, our problems would be solved.

THANKS, NEW VOYAGES PHASE II FANS AND CREW! We beat the deadline and we met our needs.

It is our fans and crew that keep us going down this voyage we are upon. The fans and crew have NEVER let us down.

Each of you is the GREATEST!

Willie stated our situation correctly! NV/PII has no well-heeled supporters. Our fans and crew give according to their ability to donate or come work.

We do hope to build a large group of donors who can send regular, small donations. Funds for studio expenses are always short and in high-demand. Main reason we do not film in winter is heating would be too expensive and is far beyond our means to heat that building all winter.

AGAIN, thanks to all who responded to our need. :)
