Star Trek Online Discussion Thread - Delta Rising

^ I have level 15 over 4 characters in all schools. Upgrading has been a constant thing for me in the game over the last few months. Still lots upgrading to be done, as I get my other characters closer to starting Delta Rising. I know sometime next year, I'll try and do more with my Klingon characters, as I've been using them for grinding materials and dilithium.

I found before one of my mk 13 phasers was around 260 DPS when I was fighting the Borg.

Cool.;)

all fixed; no longer any problems with not getting credit for ToI.

Now I need to give it a try.

I'm working towards the ice sci kit thingy that will benefit me greatly on Nukara Prime.

I meant that the server had crashed when I posted that ;)

Think they still can't figure out the bug, so they just removed the requirement to do ToI to be able to buy things instead. Last time I ran it yesterday, still no credit/reward

I am so much enjoying DR at the moment. Just did the mission on a certain alpha quadrant ship. Really beginning to hate the V. So want to smack them across the face whenever I encounter one of them.

Also tonight, started crafting my first epic DBB. Currently mk10, and got [CrtD]x2[Dmg] on it. Should be good when I get to use this on my ship sometime later in the week. Continuing to make mk2 DBB to get the right mods, and then upgrade at sometime.

Achieved the fifth level starship mastery with the Aehlal, the free warp shadow upon cloaking, which essentially draws fire from enemies to protect you while your shields go down but before you are fully stealthed. It's been very handy!

But one weird phenomenon repeatedly happens, though not every time, when this ability procs. For some reason, it also seems to generate not just a copy of my ship, but also around 10 T'liss shadows (though they don't seem to taunt the enemies). It's bizarre!

I'm getting close to having all of the R and D schools to level 15 as well, and I've been wishing I had been better at logging in just to keep the bonus research projects going. C'est la vie.

Just discovered I was wrong about my above post. I'm getting a bug where the mines from a cluster torpedo, turn into a squadron of T'liss warbirds. They do no damage, and draw no fire. Happens with both the Breen and Vaadwaur cluster torpedoes. So weird!

I'm just making a post so that the closed thread "XXX for Sale" doesn't appear as the most recent thread in this forum. So... how's Star Trek Online treating you guys these days?

Still building my character. I'm nearly done with the Delta Rep, so I may be using that Reputation Trait later on, replacing the New Romulus one. And, I took advantage of the costume sale and purchased a Mirror Universe and Command Tunic for my toon. Also, I'm currently around 11th or 12th levels with my R&D crafting. Lastly, I'm still trekkin' along with the Winter Wonderland solo race, building up my Q photos for the Breen ships. (Note: I only visit Winter Wonderland to do the solo race. The area doesn't really interest me otherwise).

I'm starting to remember what I disliked the first time playing STO..... I'm Level 28 right now, flying my Akira class with moderate weapons, and playing the Romulan missions. And those D'Deridex' are just way to powerfull. I think I need to start playing a lot more non-episodes missions and 'quests' to build up a more powerfull character and ship, otherwise this is gonna be a long game.

I stopped playing during the Cardassian Struggle last time, my character should still be there. Maybe just continue from there again. :)

The D'Deridex are powerful if you let them so their thing.
Stay out of their front and rear arc and out of tractor range.
They can't fire their torpedoes at you that way.
Keep your shields balanced, Tactical Team helps, and if they fire a number of heavy Torps anyway, use Evasive maneuvers to gain distance and time to shoot them down.
A torpedo spread of your own will take care of them nicely, or tractor beam repulsive, or the point defense console if you have it, or Fire at Will if you have beams, or Cannon Scatter Volley, or Gravity Well, or any AoE power basically.

Having good gear helps, but knowing how to pilot your ship and being clever with how to use your powers and adapting to your enemies is more important.

I'll keep that in mind. :) Thanks for the tips.

When i first started playing i dreaded going up against a d'derided, i remember dying many many times up against them. I almost rage quit the game when i first started because of them. I found out the hard way in the end keep your distance!
These days i can take one out in a few seconds and they don't bother me anymore.

FFS!!!!

During the Preemptive Strike episode, on RatorIII, I actually get respawned INTO A FRIGGIN ROCK!!!!!!!! Huge boulder, on the middle of the path. I already send a bug-report.
Not gonna try the mission again. Happened twice now, I'll wait a day before trying again.

Were some of your officers still alive? if you click the help button instead of respawn they try to revive you on the spot if possible.

Damn, I'll have to remember that....

Also, do you havea good mix of ateam with you? I usually have at least one tac, one engineer and one medic with me and one more depending on my own class.

Do yo uremember that your boffs need good gear, too to be effective?
And also level up their ground skills to make them more effective.

And btw, we have so many crafters now in the fleet, that virtually anybody can craft you some decent gear for your level and they'd do it for free most likely if you ask. ;)

View the D'dridex as a baptism of fire. Learning how to take it down without dying will help you in future content. For example Delta Rising has a wide variety of species, each with their own specific tricks that can hit you very hard if you don't know how to counter them.

So, I bought the Breen warship after getting 1000 Q pics. And, I hear that I only needed to get 40 for each ship after that. However, I'm noticing I still need 1000 pics for each ship.

I have a another character I created temporarily to see if the 40 pics would apply. No dice.

With the Breen warship, I was a bit disappointed. Maybe I'm used to my Nebula/Megellan, but when I used it against Starbase 234, my hull and shielding were cut down very quick. Even the firepower was....meh....

I tried Starbase 234 again with my Nebula/Megellan, and was able to take down the defenses a lot quicker. However, I'm still unable to take down the base itself.
