I've been trying to capture actor Sam Neil as April and you're right- the more I look at April's face, the less I like it that much.

John Hurt is the first face that comes to mind after reading but something not quite right.... Gary Oldman maybe? Alan Rickman?

In the Diane Carey novel "Final Frontier", there's mention of a European relative who can't pronounce the "J" (Hungarian if memory serves), and comes out sounding like "Yimmeeeeee!" when she sees him; making George Sr and young James cringe.

Speaking of Doctors Who, I remember that before the Axanar fan-film began it's long-lingering implosion, there was talk of trying to get Paul McGann to play April.

I'd either forgotten or hadn't noticed that retconning the TMP swept-back pylons on to the TOS design had been tried long before DSC.
