Star Trek new trailer description (Spoilers of course?)

Spock and Uhura get it on now!
After They Both beat the crap outta Kirk!!:devil:
What about Uhura/M'Ress? Something for the furry crowd. ;)

Actually I read this great M'Ress/Nurse Chapel fic once. It should still be online somewhere. I thought maybe we'd at least get to see her now with all this CGI but no. If theres one thing I really resent about this movie its that it doesn't have M'Ress in a super short/tight uniform in all the bridge shots.

Talk about Tentacle/Tail/Phallic Fantasy's!!

Yup she uses her tail. Like I said its a pretty good fic.

No one worried about changed timelines when "Yesteryear" reset history and Spock's pet died a few decades too early.
Yeah but that's because it's TAS and who cares about TAS anyway.

My understanding is that Yesteryear is the only animated episode that was adopted into the official cannon.

If the case here is that Spock resumes the same role again as Selek, then it is very probably that we will be manuvering TOS cannon into this continuation of the story.

As long as we go back to the reoots to the UNpc western magnificent seven motif, I think we will have a good story.

If it has a bad story then the movie could go to the DVD bargain bin next to voyager.

Canon. Please, it's not that hard a word.

makes me wonder if spock was acting as a guest instructor.
also sounds like the set up for koybashi maru.

Also Spock is wearing what I think is an instructors uniform.

My thoughts:

SHIT!! Vulcan implodes??

You can tell Krypton to suck it

Well at least by imploding it won't leave any radioactive rocks that can kill the survivors.

That line about his father being a captain for 12 minutes and saving 800 lives is fantastic!

Does that mean Robau croaks even sooner than we thought? Has our hero worship been misplaced?!?!?

Robau was so badass, only a Kirk could replace him. ;)

That or Robau left to use the little badass captain's room and left papa Kirk in charge.

Hmmm. This quote intrigued me:

"That line about his father being a captain for 12 minutes and saving 800 lives is fantastic!"

Would this hint that perhaps the Kelvin, while being older, is perhaps a much larger ship? (...than the enterprise). I suppose there could be a million reasons for this line
(perhaps they had, moments before, beamed over 500 refugees from a doomed ship, all crowded into the shuttle bay). Etc. and so-forth.

it is a little more complicated depending on who you are listening too
;)

a lot of people except yesteryear in has canon though i dont know it it was ever official.

but the writers of the series have always been free to borrow from tas.
once something is borrowed from tas then it does become canon.

a lot of spock's background from yesteryear is in canon that way.
some of kor's post history after errand of mercy comes from tas.
names of species and places have come from tas.

and yeah i have been thinking of selek and if they would use that as spocks cover story.
or he starts as selek but for some reason at some point reveals the truth to some.

or the kelvin helped to save another ship, a space station or possibly a new colony.

The Kelvin looks like it might have a thicker, more robust saucer section. But bigger overall? Not sure. The perspective of the see-through viewscreen in close up shots of the bridge module make the ship look to be slightly smaller than Constitution-class vessels.
