I believe there already was a comic strip posted here a few weeks ago with that theme in mind. Personally I'm not a big fan of the tentacle thing but yikes that thing is going to go over well with the anime crowd.
Any word on the FINAL trailer that will show up right before release? Any leaks?

There's a lot of anime and hentai that involves tentacles in some fashion. Actually I read this great M'ress/Nurse Chapel fic once. It should still be online somewhere. I thought maybe we'd at least get to see her now with all this CGI but no. If theres one thing I really resent about this movie its that it doesn't have M'ress in a supershort/tight uniform in all the bridge shots.
Saw it on the big screen at a midnight showing of Watchmen. It just looks amazing. Though it's possible to get a feel for how large the scope of the movie is through watching it on your computer, you really have no idea just how large it really is until you see it on the big screen. I can attest to this fact, as this trailer is the first one I've seen on the big screen since the teaser way back in January of '08.
Some moments I loved:
- "Yeah, we do."
And then he sits in The Chair. God. What a moment.
- "FIRE EVERYTHING!"
I don't know about anybody else, but I pitied Nero when I heard him say that. He sounded so desperate, as if all the things he had hoped for were slipping away. I think he's going to be a fantastic antagonist.
- Seeing Kirk and Spock glance at each other before Chekov (presumably) puts the ship into warp. In that brief moment, I think you get a glimmer of what will make these two such a great duo.
- I think we see Spock's timeship crash into the Narada. God, I hope he's not on-board.
- All the shots of the Enterprise were, to make the understatement of the year, amazing. This movie is going to take everything we knew about Star Trek, all of our perceptions of what it was and what it could be, and throw them out the window. To paraphrase the Joker, this will change things, forever.
