Star Trek - Narada

Dryson

I noticed something interesting about the Narada. When Capt. Robau was entering the ship the hangar of the Narada opened like the hangar did on V'ger in ST:TMP. The interior then opened in a similar manner. Since the Borg come from the same space that V'ger was designed in and the Narada is based off of Borg technology could the events surrounding the explosion of Romulus' sun have been done by the Borg who then guided the Narada into the past so that a signal from the Narada would create a beacon for the Borg of the past to home in on? Once the beacon had been found by a single Borg scout ship piloted by a single Borg and the Borg communicated with the transponder would the orders instruct the Borg of the past to attack the Federation to once again attempt total assimilation of the Galaxy by the Borg?

In the comic, Star Trek Countdown, Nero ramped up the Narada's abilities with Borg tech captured by the Romulans, before coming back in time.

Narada looked like a vampire squid--actually a good design for an asteroid miner. Sort of like the ARM mission to bag a space-rock.
