"Star Trek: Nairobi" (TNG Relaunch Era)

hellsgate

Commodore
How about this.

23 April 2381

As a result of the events of "Full Circle" and "Singular Destiny", The Borg have been permanently curbed by The Caeliar.

The Alpha Quadrant Alliance is left scrambling to figure out when and how the Nausicaans, Ferengii, Orion Syndicate / Coalition of Non-Aligned Worlds (among others,) will seize and capitalize on the opportunity to thrive in the meantime with relative impunity.

Certain nostalgic factions of both the Klingons and breakaway Imperial Romulan State are beating wardrums. Unfortunately for a thinly-spread Starfleet, the noise is bleeding over the borders to increasingly aggitated Cardassian and Bajoran allies. They're in the midst of initiating The Andak Project, a Post-Dominion "A.Q. Alliance" Aid package seeking to feed the Cardassians' vulnerable populace.

  • Operations Officer Lieutenant Chyna Phelps.

Adopted by Human God-parents at nine years old, and assumed their legal surname after her birth parents' cruiser (assigned to keep the dispute within the Neutral Zone & keep the Romulans out of The Klingon Empire's affairs,) was destroyed by Klingon warriors backing the Duras Family bid for leadership of the High Council. Has an affection for cats, dislikes dogs (especially Klingon targs,) can't get enough of chinese food and trashy Human harlequin romance holo-novels that she creates on her spare time.

Nice drawings, but I believe your LT. CDR pips are in the wrong order. the hollow one should be on the top and the two full ones to the bottom closer to the center of the neck.

wow you've put a lot of thought into this. great job. i'd certainly watch it. it'd be refreshing to see a trek where everything is not all in order. i know that is contrary to the original vision of trek being all about peace and order and whatnot and that the federation is this solid organization. it may be my exposure to battlestar galactica, but i'd like to see the federation be on the losing side trying to rebuild or being the minor power in the area trying to regain it's former glory.

i hope they do a show that has the federation decimated by some event and are trying to put the pieces back together.

Beautiful! A show with this many female characters and a crew that's mostly alien? I'm freaking there!

I'm glad you all liked the idea. It's not that Starfleet / The U.F.P. are in ruins, its just that progress calls for change.

Not all Starfleet ships or fan fics should be mainly Human crews with token non-Human races running around below decks.

I saw a pattern forming in my own thinking & some of the authors at TrekBBS and thought that "Titan"/"TNG Relaunch"-era fics / show-concepts should learn to bend a bit further.

Post-Dominion War 'Officer Exchange Programs' should offer an exchange of Captains, not just X.O.'s.

There should be more cooperation between the partners of the Dominion War "Alpha Quadrant Alliance", & there should be a few idealistic officers that saw what was wrong with Dukat's signature on the "Pact of Non-Aggression" with The Dominion.

There should be a wider range of characters that aren't the scarcely-restrained knife-sharpening-egomaniacs we've become accustomed-to.

There should be a few stories to tell about what exactly went into Odo's "Gamma Quadrant Peaceful Exploration Treaty" before he returned to The Great Link.

There should be a story or two out there about how The Federation Council had to acquiesce to pressure to allow Cardassian, Klingon, Romulan (Civilian / Government) leaders on Starfleet bridges, while there's reason to believe they'll be entering / monitoring / protecting the Cardassian Union, Klingon Empire or The Romulan Star Empire, under cloak or not.
