Far be it for me to drop-kick this thread into TNZ, but, IIRC, Tipper Gore certainly had her panties in a bunch regarding musically "offensive materials" back in the 90's and I'm preeeeeety sure she's not a conservative. Censorship ain't just for the right anymore there, my friend.

First of all, threads do not get 'drop kicked' from the Trek Forums to TNZ. That is not the way we do things on this board - I don't recall us ever moving a thread from a Trek Forum to TNZ, in the 5 + years I've been a mod.

In fact, rarely does any thread get 'drop kicked' to TNZ anymore - not even from Misc, since there is always a good chance that sundry existing participants in such a thread would not have TNZ access.

That said, we really need to keep the political discussion to a minimum in here, unless it grows directly out of the discussion of a Trek XI event which occurs in the film.

And since we don't know the specifics of the film yet, that would mean politics should really play a very minimal part in this forum - at least for the time being.

So guys...how about we discontinue that portion of the discussion.
