“So we’re in agreement. In light of the threat we’re facing, we’ll deploy the Mjolnir to deal with the threat.” Vasily Zeitsev of the clandestine organization known only as Section Thirty-One said.

“Agreed. But I still don’t see why we needed to assign your man to the ship.” Admiral Anthony Haftel of Starfleet command said.

“Agent Washbourne is one of the best operatives we have. He’ll make sure the mission gets completed no matter the cost.” Zeitsev replied.

“That seems a little cold.” Haftel commented.

“Well, Augments do tend to be that way. But that’s part of what makes him such a good operative.” Zeitsev said with a ominous grin on his face before he pressed a hidden control on the wrist of his all black tunic signaling a Section Thirty-One long range transporter, based on Dominion technology, to beam him away.

“Why do I feel like I just made a deal with the devil.” Haftel said to himself as he stood alone in the San Francisco back alley.

Terralysium System, Beta Quadrant

In the basement of a church in what looked like a farming village from Earth’s nineteenth century North America a grey haired woman wearing flowing red robes stepped off the bottom stair leading up into the church saw a young redhead man with a full beard looking at the church’s electrical panel that was connected, via an adaptor with a fiber-optic cable, to an old but clearly Federation designed power cell. Walking over he looked at the power cell and saw it bore the words, ‘USS DISCOVERY NCC – 1031’ on its identification plaque.

“What was it that you were wanting to tell me, Ezekiel?” Kamala, the All-Mother of the town of New Eden, said as she walked over to the electrical panel.

“Its worse than I thought, All-Mother.” Ezekiel said, “Best case scenario we will only have power for another five years.”

“Are you sure?” Kamala asked.

“I am.” Ezekiel said, “So, unless you can convince the Red Angel to leave us another battery…”

“It doesn’t work like that.” Kamala replied.

“Too bad.” Ezekiel muttered before heading off to busy himself with his other maintenance duties in the church.

Order Of Omega Headquarters
Witchhead Nebula, Federation Phalanx

Stepping off of the temporal communicator platform in the station in the Witchhead nebula which served as the Order Of Omega Headquarters Jamron Harnoth walked over to a nearby computer console and pressed a series of commands into the control interface. Once the computer had opened a communications channel Harnoth began his report.

“The Kavadah’ni have been directed towards the Proxima Centauri Colony. They are set to arrive there in twenty-three eighty-one.” Harnoth reported.

Seconds later a series of warbles that sounded vaguely like a cross between an elephant trumpeting and the clicks and squeals of a dolphin came from the console seemingly answering him.

“I will keep a close eye on events. They won’t fail us like the Suliban and Jauridians” Harnoth said.

Once the warbles stopped Harnoth said, “I know. I am making arrangements to eliminate Kirk.”

"Excuse me." A bald clean shaven Thallonian non-comm said with a grin, "You're new here, so I thought I should introduce myself. I'm CPO Jang Si Veran, I'm the ship's cook, but everyone just calls me 'Chief'. Can I get you something to eat?" The Mjolnir's crimson skinned ship's chef said.

"Are you THE Jang Si Veran that served on the Thermopylae" Petty Officer Second Class Arel Ha Yel asked, The Triexian non-comm that had recently been assigned to the Mjolnir asked incredulously.

"Yes." Jang Si said with a 'calm down' gesture of his hands. "But don't spread that information."

"Why not?" Arel said, still excited but a bit quieter. "You're literally a hero!"

"It was a long time ago. I traded in my phaser for a frying pan quite a while ago." The Thallonian said reluctantly, "And its not exactly something that I like to talk about. I did what needed to be done and I didn't take any pleasure in it."

"Well, I can respect that. But, Its still an honor to meet the hero of Soltok Four" Arel said

"That was a LONG time ago." Jang Si replied, "Now I focus on culinary matters."

"I know its a long shot but do you happen to know the hero of Setlik Three?" Arel asked.

"Miles O'Brien? Yea, I know him. We served on the Rutledge together, Under Captain Maxwell." Jang Si replied.

"Wow!" Arel said awe-struck.
