Star Trek: Mission Chicago 2022

Hoping the situation will be better and stable by then. I see 55 Year Mission in Vegas has a huge line up but Vegas has a Delta surge......see lots of fans cancelling...waiting to see if the guests start dropping as well.

‪‪I hadn’t seen this thread, though ‪‪I looked for it, a couple months back, and posted this:

If conditions are permitting, ‪‪I’ll be attending Star Trek: Mission Chicago this April with my oldest brother, and my nephew. I’ve been to a lot of conventions over the years, but this will be my first since the pandemic, and my first Star Trek specific convention, so I’m looking forward to it for a few reasons.

‪‪I wondered who else around here might be planning on coming to Chicago in the spring.

I’m hopeful that things will have mellowed enough to feel comfortable going in April, it should be a great time if they can pull it off.

Conventions have largely gotten back to normal. There's other cons I can drive to that weekend which I am more likely to hit up instead. I have not met some of these actors, but I'm just not a fan of how ReedPop conduct their shows. Everything requires a premium price and it's just not any fun.

Never been to a convention but having not travelled in a few years, I'm considering going to 56-Year Mission in Vegas. I'm a little concerned about a springtime surge/variant, so I guess we'll see how things look for August.

Any thoughts, tips, ideas, warnings? Mostly thought the trip would be fun, and I'd get some Star Trek with it.

I'm actually surprised Creation is still allowed to do their own thing in Vegas.......figured Reed Pop would have some kind of exclusive rights option.

Do you know/have an opinion on the difference? Very curious since I've never attended and it's a fairly big investment to go.
ReedPop hasn't really done one for Trek in recent history to my knowledge because Creation was the OFFICIAL Convention every year. So hard to compare. ReedPOP does do Star Wars Celebration.

I stopped doing big cons about 10 years ago........the ones I went to were overbooked, over priced, and I felt like I was just a cow being herded and milked allllllll day long.

Thanks. That is my concern, as well. However, my spouse and I figured we'd be in Vegas --- we can always stroll the vendors, see the sessions we want, then get out and see the rest of Vegas, too.

We'll see!

Does anyone here think a few of the full panels will eventually find their way online?
