Star Trek Mentors

Purdy Bear

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Which character do you believe is a good mentor?

I love Captain Janeways as well as Dr Crusher. Both are strong females, fair and very likeable.

Captain Janeway retains her feminine side with her china cup and saucer (well they look china to me), shes not afraid to get her hands dirty, or send in the troops.

Lieutenant Commander Leland T. Lynch, Chief Engineer of USS Enterprise-D. Smug bastard had it together, even back talked Picard. Sign me up as engineering assistant!

O'Brien would be a good mentor, as would Geordi. Both would have a lot of patience.
McCoy would also be about the best teacher there is.

Captain Pike (by Greenwood) is a very capable mentor. He seems to inspire others to emulate him.

Not to pick a fight, but i'm not so sure that Geordi had a whole lot of patience. He was always getting short with someone or another...even with Scotty in Relics!

AWESOME CHOICE!!!!!

Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise-D
Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise (nuTrek - though I like The Cage Pike too).

I always got the impression he was pretty patient with those who worked for him, such as Taurik or Gomez. I think he was maybe a little intimidated by Scotty, so he ended up being short with him. Or perhaps since he didn't work for Geordi, Geordi felt no need to be patient?
