Star Trek magazine Movie Issue question

Yes, every issue of the magazine will include its own supply of Red Matter so you can annihilate all lifeforms in your immediate vicinity. Warp cores to close them not included, use at your own risk, void where prohibited by law...

Tip some into the red ink! My brother has that cool Marvel comic containing actual KISS band-members' blood!

(Can you imagine the outrage that stunt would cause today?)

Please, please tell me Therin is inhabiting his own bizarre personal make-believe world, for whatever reason, and that there were never promotional comics with blood in them. I've had a long day, and it's all getting increasingly surreal...

God, I hope so.

Something tells me that no, he is not kidding , unless it's his aussie humour which I doubt very much and he is telling the truth.

Well, of course he does--but in this case, Therin's reality and ours coincides. Marvel put out comics where the ink had been mixed with the band member's blood (it didn't contain actual pouches of blood or anything like that) in the late seventies.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Thank you for both enlightening me and weirding me out :)

Yep! Remember the oversized "Marvel Super Specials"? One issue (#15) had the ST:TMP adaptation (later serialized in the first three Marvel ST comics), but issue #1 in the "Marvel Super Specials" series featured KISS!

As you can see by the cover wording, the red ink had real blood in it, and the bonus pages of the issue featured b/w pics of Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter with their arms hooked up to syringes!

Issue #5 was also a KISS story, but no blood that time.

Interesting...thank you

^When I say blood, toil, sweat and tears went into creating the magazine, I hope I'm only being 75% accurate...!
