Apparently the trailer has been rated and it has A PG rating so parental guidance is required. Here is the Link:

My guess is we might get the trailer out soon before December the 14th.

I must say I am scared and excited at the same time. The trailer will last for a minute. kind of bumped about that as I wanted it to be at least 2 minutes long (been watching too much Marvel film trailers). hopefully that will happen with trailer 2.

Bah, I read "released" not "rated" and my heart skipped a beat.

Still a good sign!

(also: There is no colon! It's Star Trek Into Darkness, all sentence-y)

It notes that this is "Trailer A" and its only roughly a minute long, which makes it sound like a Teaser Trailer. Maybe that's specifically what they have rated for this list.

I saw it today. God, I wish I could talk about it, but I'd have to kiss my job goodbye. It's certainly going to generate a lot of discussion!

Can you indicate whether it will clarify any of the points that fans have been obsessively speculating about?

I'm less attached to nu-Trek, so I haven't been following the speculation. Is Cumberbatch playing Gary Mitchell? The teaser doesn't answer that.

Yeah, that's pretty much the only question.

Thanks

Ah, so just generic. So what's to discuss then?

Oh, plenty. The teaser's designed to raise more questions than it answers. I'm sure there'll be frame-by-frame analysis for details, and there's a whole lot of frames! I'm looking forward to seeing the debates on Trek Tech, similar to the ones over "Enterprise being built on Earth" from the first film :)

I don't think we'll have long to wait until it appears online. Within a week is my hunch

Hope the movie itself isn't PG.
I would think they probably need a PG trailer to be shown in theaters before PG movies. Making the trailer PG-13 would limit the movies to which it could be attached, and limit the potential amount of people who may see the trailer.

Of course the movie is not going to be PG.

AND WOW!!!!!

We now know that we don't know if it's Gary Mitchell!!!

Anyone else sick of the name Gary Mitchell?

Yep, trailers for big movies are usually designed to be shown in front of all kinds of flicks - unless they're for, you know, Ted.

There's been some Facebook posting about the trailer. I'd expect we'll get a description of it on the movie gossip sites in the next 24 hours.

The movie is PG, So I am guessing its the usual. Mild Sex and a little bit of blood and average violence.

Not so different from the first film.

So it's a short teaser and not a long trailer? That's a bit frustrating, but I'm still definitely stoked to see what kind of footage is in there.

A 60 second trailer. I'm guessing 50 seconds of white on black title cards ("Love challenged...detonation...STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS...etc") and 10 seconds of flash cut action scenes a half second each.
