Star Trek Into Darkness and the 4th wall

That's pretty well done. The "How It Should Have Ended" ones have had a couple of clever bits, but generally come off sort of heavy-handed and obvious by comparison.

For a true example of breaking the fourth wall, watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off and see how many times Ferris talks directly to the camera.

There are also notable examples in Airplane! and Top Secret!
I can't remember if Top Secret! is in here, but Ferris Bueller and Airplane! make appearances in this collection:

I can't remember if Top Secret! is in here. . .

The Top Secret! scene I was remembering is the guy and girl are in a clinch, and the line is "It's like we're in some bad movie." Then they slowly take a nervous look at the camera.

Right here, and working perfectly.
That video just isn't funny.

This one is:

Completely agree. I've seen a bunch of the "how it should have ended" videos, many of which I found amusing. This one--not even a chuckle. But the Conan one is amusing (not riotously funny, but amusing).

I just thought it was a Tex Avery-style exercise in seeing how far something could be extended and still keep the audience engaged. Also (unlike the "How it should have ended" clips) to do it without calling attention to the gag in advance.

Personally I felt they over-did the "ones" a tad, but still funny.

Unfortunate that Kirk and Spock didn't see that baby Gorn coming.

Sure, I'll take that.

Well I think, given the situation, Khan's behaviour is disorientating and confusing and ultimately absurd, thus generating almost nervous laughter at the meaninglessness of existence, ... or something. ;)
