Star Trek: Indistinguishable From Magic in spring 2011

^^

Hmm. A 200-year old mystery? If the current timeline is 2380-ish, then that puts the "backstory" at 2180 or so. Are you referencing the ENT timeline or leaving that alone?

I'm not fussed either way, just curious.

Curiosity kills cats...

With the support of Guinan and Nog...
LOL, that sounds so incredibly random. Guinan, yeah, 200 year old mysteries are her deal, but Nog?

There is a reason why he happens to be there. In-story, I mean, beyond CBS having said "add couple more familiar faces" at the outline stage.

Meanwhile, have a cover:

The cover's alright. Nice to have a break from the usual poorly photoshopped floating (and often recycled) heads.

It's a bit of a shame that "Challenger" isn't prominently visible on the hull - but that's more the fault of the micro-font TNG ships use to idenify themselves.

I bet there's no swirly red wormhole thing in the book itself!

That's a nice cover. I can't wait to hear people say it sucks because the Galaxy's deflector is two degrees off center or some other very little tiny nitpick like its too orange, so I wont be picking up the book.

It's too orange, who'd buy such an orange book?

It's not orange, it's fried gold!

(trivia- on the full-sized image I originally got, you can see the registry number NCC-71099 on the saucer - it's a grab from Timeless - but to be visible on the book cover it'd have to be, like, A3 sized or something...)

I like that cover. I totally forgot the challenger was Galaxy class, I was thinking it was an Akira or Nebula or one of those.

Its actually not an accurate version of the Challenger from Timeless, because underneath the registry was the USS Challenger. oh well, I will still picked up with sunglasses.

Its too orange. Its like someone squished a bunch of cheetos on it. No book for me.
