Having a home projector and 120in movie screen means the movies come to me.........if i could be bothered to pull out the screen from the cupboard. Lol

I have a similar set up. Full-blown home theater with a 4k projector and 7.2 surround. I only go to the theater now for special occasion movies now (Top Gun, No Time to Die most recently)
Oh your 4k is way beyond my setup, mine is only 1080p or 3d, but it works and 4k projectors are still way tol pricey here in the UK.
Going in about an hour. Khan't wait.
I'm tempted to go Monday in Lexington. It looks like they'll be playing First Contact in a couple of weeks too 
Yeah but you're missing the thrills and fun of:
- walking on sticky floors thanks to popcorn butter and soda pop (in most of the aisles)
- people watching their phones, whose glowing light distracts
- people talking to each other during the movie
- people in back making loud naughty noises (and not just profane words!)
- babies crying because they're
seeing Khan kill everyone on screen is just what it takes for them to grow up fasterneeding food in (or, worse, food out)
- Not being propositioned while in the queue (much less in the back of the theater where the noises are)
- the obligatory quip about getting covid (or other diseases, especially in the back of the theater!)
- etc

When I saw it in the theater in 2010 and Kirk yelled, "KHHHHAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I clapped. Then everyone else started clapping. I started a chain reaction.

Will be going to see it on the big screen for the very first time. I watched it on VHS as a kid, then bought the regular DVD, then the DE DVD, then got the DE BD back in 2016. Absolutely loved the 4K in the 1-4 set a year ago. After all these years, still can’t wait to see it on the big screen! Khaaaaaan!
There was the extended Peter Preston bits in the engine room and sickbay. No comment on Kirk saying to Spock “that’s my son” whilst going up the ladders. I think they fixed the blood on Kirk’s jacket appearing/disappearing at the death scene?

My first star trek film I saw in cinemas was first contact, but went to see TMP a few weeks ago and just got back from wraith of khan, there was a bunch of tweens in the cinema, turns out they were in the wrong film.
FIRST CONTACT was the first movie ever that I drove to once I got my driver's license.
I noticed that the movie looked darker. The film grain looked pretty normal for a movie of this vintage. The sound was excellent and I think the vfx have held up brilliantly, the only exception being a couple of dodgy matte paintings.There was the extended Peter Preston bits in the engine room and sickbay. My screening was half full and the audience were very respectful. A great experience.
Really enjoyed it today - too young to have seen it in the cinemas so a great opportunity. The music was the clincher for me - great to hear it in a cinema.
