STAR TREK IDOL

What single musical perfomance, so this could mean vocal or just playing an instrument, is the best musical performance of all time in Star Trek's history...Be it from Uhura's singing in TOS, Riker's Trombone playing, Picard's flute and vocals, Data's vocals, Vic Fontain, Ben Sisko's "the best is yet to come, all the way to Row Row Row your boat, and others I have not mentioned..what single musical perfomance would you rank the best of all time?

And...after the performance was done, how would they have been judged by Randy, Paula and Simon???

This is your...

STAR TREK IDOL!!!!

Here are the top three Trek musical moments:

1. DS9: Chrystalis - The episode of Ds9 where Jack, Lauren and the newly revived Sarina sing an improvisation in harmonic solfege. This entire scene literally brought tears to my eyes.

2. VOY: Virtuoso - The very final scene when the doctor sings Rondine al nido, and admits to Qomar that he is not talented enough to sing Tincoo's composition.

3. TNG: Lessons - Captain Picard and Nella Daren play the Ressikan Flute and the Portable Piano, the classic song from "The Inner Light" in a moving little duet.

There's no debating this :).

no debate? ha!

1. They Way You Look Tonight; Vic singing to the crew of DS9. And then the music is used as Obrien and the rest reflect on the show's best moments

2. The Best Is Yet To Come..the great duet between Sisko and Vic.

I will agree with you on Picard/Daren musical combo.

But I also liked the classical piece played in "Sarek", where Sarek sheds a tear.

But by far the best musical performance, and I am shocked YOU didn't mention it? That woman alien, and Worf, dueting on that Klingon Opera song in Reunion!!! That was a classic!!!

Ohhhh, wow yes-- the Worf song is definitely in the top songs. I still sing that song... FIRE STREAKS THE HEAVENS, BATTLE HAS BEGUN.

Trip on harmonica.
And of course Inner Light penny whistle. Play it at my funeral so everybody loses it!

Easy, veeeery easy: This one.
You are one sick puppy.

Can't say I like the songs, but I quite like the instrumental jam session when Spock plays in the rec-room - though I realise it isn't the greatest music ever written.

I absolutely love Uhura's "Beyond Antares" in Conscience of the King. I also like her little piece in Charlie X. Though some of the early notes sound a bit off, I think it is mostly the style of song she is singing. Still, it's pretty funny and most of it is a treat.

Riker's Bourbon Street Bar trombone piece in 11001001 is also a pleasure. I've heard that Frakes actually performed that himself. :D
