Star Trek Hunter Episode 17: Terms of Surrender

Review 17.1 - Yes, that must drive Sela nearly mad, knowing full well she's walked into a trap but not knowing the how or why's of it. Was this all an underhanded gambit by Section 31 to forcibly reunify the Vulcan and Romulan people? Is this how Ni'Var eventually came about?

Review 17.2 - Leave it to Ivonovic to be in the middle of an stellar-political mess, even if he's just on the sidelines so far this time. The Andorians are playing a dangerous game, but given the mercurial nature of their new emperor, that's to be expected.

Review 17.3 - Sub-Commander Nikato appears far smarter than his appearance would indicate. He also has (or pretends to have) a sense of justice and compassion. I don't know if his actions, even if mimicked by others in the occupation force, will hold back the potential formation of resistance groups... only time will tell.

Review 17.4 - Oh, Is Ivonovic beginning to sweat a little over the ramifications of all this unpleasantness? Pretty sure he's calling everyone's favorite starship-driving justice. I wonder if we'll get to hear him beg?

Yes, that must drive Sela nearly mad, knowing full well she's walked into a trap but not knowing the how or why's of it...

Doesn't really warm the cockles of Sela's heart toward humanity... Watch for her signature line coming soon...

Leave it to Ivonovic to be in the middle of an stellar-political mess,

And it gets stickier for him from here...

Sub-Commander Nikato appears far smarter than his appearance would indicate.

Nikato does know how to build a loyal following...

Oh, Is Ivonovic beginning to sweat a little over the ramifications of all this unpleasantness?

This call will put Ivonovic on a new path that will propel him toward his very sticky fate... Ivonovic has the biggest story arc in STH. Although a case can be made for Irons... Thanks again for the reviews!! rbs

Review 17.5 - I love the chemistry between these two characters. They've shared each other physically, mentally, and spiritually, and there are few, if any, secrets left between them.

Review 17.6 - Well, that's not a risky plan at all! This should prove very interesting. The skullduggery from this part of the Irons clan is a valuable asset, especially in such circumstances. Here's hoping Pomm's expensive ship doesn't end up being sold off cheap at auction... posthumously.

I'm really gratified that relationship comes through in this scene. T'Lon wears her scars on the outside.

Review 17.6 - Well, that's not a risky plan at all! ...The skullduggery from this part of the Irons clan is a valuable asset... posthumously.

Certainty of death... Small chance of success... What are we waiting for?

Glad you're enjoying - thanks again for the reviews! rbs

Review 17.7 – So, Ivonovic’s either moving up in the world, or Ushi has something planned for him. I liked the procedural flavor of the council deliberations as everyone tries to come to grips with the fall of Vulcan.

Review 17.8 – It’s stealth and guile for secret operatives on Vulcan these days. Good thing those nice young men played nice with her… Pivin earned her nickname. Excellent skullduggery on display in this installment.

Review 17.9 – Irons is persuasion personified here, holy hell! She has clearly worked out her argument far in advance, and this exact conclusion may have been what Section 31 had planned all along. Talk about subverting your enemies!

rons is persuasion personified here, holy hell!... ...and this exact conclusion may have been what Section 31 had planned all along...

Figured you might get a kick out of that...

For more information, see the summary of the Terms of Surrender (17.13)

The enemy comes for you, but instead, is compelled to join...

You can say that Section 31 is bad...
You can also say that Section 31 is badass...

Thanks!! rbs

As I intimated - his sticky fate approaches like a swamp monster squelching from the depths... And Ushi's playing the fife.

Really glad you're enjoying Pivin and thanks for the kind words!
Joss Wheedon said he had a thing for pubescent girls who kick ass. I guess I have a thing for little old ladies who kick ass...

Thanks!! rbs

+1
In fact, my preference is for stories with examples of wisdom, gain through a lifetime of experience, kicking youthful physical talent all over the field. The really dangerous badass should never look like he or she is even making an effort. They see it coming and have made an appropriate reaction plan even before their opponent knew they were making a move.

Review 17.10 - A staggering cache of intelligence collected by Pivin, passed through Eba on to Irons. There's a lot to unpack here, and the Romulan Navy is preparing for bad things, man... bad things. :scream:

Pivin's got one helluva shorthand!

Review 17.11 - You can't say Sela doesn't know her enemy. Only now is she realizing the depth and breadth of Section 31's plans, the ultimate long game. Will she walk into the trap willingly, though?
