Star Trek Home Systems in Real Space

I'm putting together a Star Trek scenario for a PC game, which has accurate 3D real space system locations, and I am trying to setup up Star Trek races in the right locations. For example, most sources I can find agree that Vulcan is in the 40 Eridani system, Andoria is in Procyon and Tellar Prime is in 61 Cygni. However, once we get further from Sol, the locations are very difficult to pin down. I wondered if this topic had come up on the forums in the past and there was already consensus on those locations.

The main ones I am looking for are:
  1. Romulus. Some sources suggest Beta Trianguli Australis. Others 128 Trianguli, which isn't a real system and Trianguli is in the opposite hemisphere to Trianguli Australis (when viewed from Sol).
  2. Qo'noS. I found a suggestion of Omega Leonis on one website, but other sources have fictional systems.
  3. Cardassia. The best I information I can find is 5 LY from Bajor, which itself is 62 LY from Earth, but no actual location.
  4. Gorn. Sources tend to state Tau Lacerte, which doesn't seem to be a real star.
  5. Breen. No idea.
  6. Ferenginar. Also no idea.
  7. Any major races I missed - suggestions welcome.
I am keeping within range of Sol and within the TOS/TNG era, so no Voyager races, no Dominion, etc. and I will handle the Borg separately as a mobile race.

There are a few 2D maps of Star Trek space that include real star systems, but they seem to contradict one another, don't translate well to 3D space (systems shown close together in 2D are separated by over 90 degrees of arc in 3D for example) and tend to use fictional locations for the major races.

Any help on this would be really appreciated. Even if the actual system is unknown, simply knowing the proximity to a real system in 3D space would help as I could generate a fictional system in the general location as a last resort.

And I have just seen the "Sector and Sector grid directory" post, which has a 2D map but with references to real system - I'll check that out as well.

Thanks - the 'real world locations' in the links are on Earth and the regions are fictional, but I did pick up a couple of Federation race home worlds from the Wiki link.

I hope you're doing okay with this. Over in https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/edg...-work-in-progress.315271/page-4#post-14732807 there's been some discussion about placing systems, and about using + and - to designate vertical placement, so I think some good potential help may be available soon there.

Also is talk about placing systems using HYG.com or the Attentivesenpai map, I linked to previously (in the Sector Directory post)

This is a major ask, I know...but...

In light of the recent discovery of Gliese 12 b, I ask that it (not Epsilon Eridani) be Vulcan from now on.

Scholz's Star the former home of Krypton.

Gliese 710 for WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE.

Planet 9 for Event Horizon

47 Ursae Majoris for Dilbia (Spacepaw).

I would have Epsilon Eridani for Skaro?

This is a cute star chart display

Vulcan. In orbit of 40 Eridani A

Andoria is either at Epsilon Indii or at Procyon. It's proximity to Tellar is a bit more confusing, in Star Trek: Enterprise, however. The directions cited, may not all fit.
