141 days after he declared ‘action’ for the first time, JJ Abrams has wrapped principal photography for his Star Trek movie. This comes in pretty much on the original schedule (although a couple of weeks earlier than the revised schedule).

Yay! It is finally over! Star Trek has finished filming. J.J Abrams has actually finished it ahead of schedule. In the months to come I hope we will receive more and more tidbits without being completely exposed and spoiled about the movie. My main interest is the ship, then the cast in their characters and finally the true aesthetics of how everything looks in movie lighting. :)

Counting down to May 2009. :techman::techman::techman:

I wonder if they went back and made any of those changes that they had wanted to make (but were prevented from doing so) during the writers' strike.

I'm sure they will. Abrams, at heart, is a writer. He wouldn't let good words go to waste. But I doubt they would be involve the main unit and all the overhead that entails. They can catch those in close-ups and looping, in most cases. That would be my bet. They could even be second unit stuff.

I love the fact that principle photography is complete and we still have no real idea what this film is all about.

Unusual to say the least, by now the plot would be all over the net.
Man can't wait - that little taste we got this week made me hungry for more.

Earlier you say? Hmm that's awesome and doubtless makes the shirts happy as well.

All the leaks we had of previous movies had dumb security I guess. :p Abrams must have people that either really really likes him or he pays more than average for security people.

Do you really need to know? What if this were "The Empire Strikes Back" and you were spoiled of Vader's true identity? What if this were "Wrath of Khan" and you were spoiled by Spock's death before you saw it?

OK, I'm not making a convicing case here, but these excuses are as good as any!

I think it's a fair bet that at least some of the people who hang around this forum want to be spoiled silly about every little detail of this picture. Does it undercut the suspense? Definitely. But hey, that's their choice... and mine. I want to know more so I know this film looks like it's worth paying money to go see in the cinemas.

The Vader identity was a major surprise (a great moment in that film which will be lost to those who watch the SW prequels first). But I think just about everyone was spoiled with Spock's death before TWOK was released. They even made a joke about it in the movie.

Hopefully they can continue to keep a lid on spoilers for this movie.

Would it really be such a tragedy to have parted with $13 if the movie doesn't live up to your standards?
