Star Trek: Friendliest Catch :D

I think the next regular series should be set on a tribble collector ship, maybe in the TOS era. They sell the tribbles as pets, and they have to try and grab what they can before the Klingons exterminate them. And the crew could be mainly redshirts.

:D

Heh, and their constant nemesis would be the Klingons of course—out to destroy the tribbles in the Great Tribble Hunt!

Hmmm. I'm sure a more serious 'adaptation' of the Deadliest Catch series could be made in the Trek-verse - the kernel is there in this idea, but it's potentially too comical for my taste at the moment.

We do, indeed, have the kernel of an excellent idea. A crew of sorts, outlaws, our so-called "big damn heroes." They're living out on the raggedy edge, trying partially to accomplish an altruistic but profitable goal under the noses of the oppressive Klingon Alliance, but mainly to just... keep on flyin'.

On second thought, I may have heard this one before, but I liked the result enough the last time to give the coveted Wowbagger Seal of Approval to further development of this proposal.

Never seen Deadliest Catch. What's the low-down?

The Deadliest Catch is a series on the Discovery Channel about crab fishermen in the Bering Sea. It's a really interesting show. Camera crews document the day to day life on the boats as they fish for crab.

Subspace Distortion Space Lane Cargo Shippers.

Near the badlands region in the Apha Quadrant there are areas of space that are cracked with subspace anomalies and moving cargo over them is really risky. If a ship hauling cargo fall into one of these they are dead, but they get paid a lot for moving loads around. Ever so often these subspace anomalies freeze and provide a stable region of subspace for the cargo ships to cross over.

Relatively Normal Creature Quest.

A crew seeks out to take blurry pictures of perfectly normal animals, see blurry pictures of Tribbles and Beagles and Targs taken by time exposure still cameras placed in perfectly normal locations.
