Over the past few days I've been trying to create the ultimate Star Trek font. What I mean by that is creating a font that is a combination of all the title fonts from the four Star Trek series and ten movies. Here are the results I came up with: 1. The average shape of the title fonts of "The Cage", ST, TNG, DSN, VOY, and movies 1-10. 2. The common features of the ST, TNG, DSN, and VOY title fonts. 3. Some distinctive elements of the ST, TNG, DSN, and VOY title fonts, though it leans a bit towards ST. Bonus: 4. The average shape of all movie 7-10 title fonts. 5. The average shape of all movie 1-6 title fonts. Which font is your favorite out of 1-3? Any suggestions for improvement on any of them?
2 gets my vote. BTW, can we download these for use in fan films? It would certainly make the title more unique looking than just reusing a title font from an existing Trek production.
Unfortunately, they aren't full fonts yet. But when I get them finished I'd be happy let people use them for fan films and such.
What was the font for the old inaccurate AMT TOS Enterprise. I think it was called "machine" It deserves to live on....perhaps for civilian ships.
1 and 5 feel the most "sensible" to me. Really neat to see a font project here in the art section. Kudos!
Two and five are my favorites, but I might like 1 more without the serif on the "S" and with the cutouts removed or enlarged.
#3 is my favourite. Like @Danlav05 said, it stands out from the other two (which seem dated to me - but not in a bad way). I would make a small amendment to the E though, as it looks a little out of place as it is. I hope you don't mind:
Thanks for the comments. It's nice to see the responses are all over the board, meaning none of them are horrendous. Moving forward with development I'll start with number 2 and then do the others after that. Yes. I think the cutouts turned out to be kind of a strange size. Almost like they can't commit to being cutouts. Interesting idea.
