Star Trek Fan Film Help....

Hello fellow Trekkies, I’m at a dilemma. I’m going to make a Star Trek Lego Fan Film (yes I already know what you’re going to say) but before you judge please watch my Batman fan film Batman: Faces of evil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf1u4QcO8VM

Ok now that you know I’m serious, I need to know if using the figures with non-Lego ships would be acceptable. For instance these mini ships.

Just building the sets is going to be a big process as you can see in my batman fan film the sets will be big. Or should I use legos to build ships? (Little ships) Would it mater. Another matter is I’m thinking of using sound bites from voyager and DS9 episodes for voices because voices are really hard to do. One more question dose it matter if I use different crews with different ships. I would appreciate any feedback or comment it would really help my efforts in making an enjoyable Star Trek Fan Film, Thanks and live long and prosper. Patrick

You really spend a lot of time on these and your work is outstanding! The sets will be very tricky particularly for DS9 which happens to be my favorite. Legoes do not emulate Cardassian architecture all that precisely! I think using the ornament ships will be fine for establishing shots or action sequences. Making entire vessels completely out of Legoes would be a major undertaking and not entirely worthwhile since the miniatures you have are perfectly good for the medium in which you will be working.

In my opinion, I would prefer to see the Voyager crew and DS9 crew in their own setting UNLESS you are creating your own original story- perhaps set when the Voyager crew was waiting at DS9 in the first episode. There wouldn't be much reason to have DS9 crossover into the Voyager sets, though. Use your imagination and BEST OF LUCK! Sent me a PM if you want some voiceover acting. I will gladly record and send some files for the effort!

Also, I would suggest that before you make further posts on TrekBBS, you read the board rules, which you agreed to follow when you signed up.
