The problem is not that it's Anime. I've seen some great comic book renditions of these characters and I have no problem with that whatsoever. The problem lies with the concept of turning them into kids, and young ones at that. I mean, really... If you're going to portray them as kids, at least don't make them wear the Starfleet uniforms...
