Star Trek: Excalibur (ID fan production + what happened...?)

Just remembering, months and months ago there was a fan film that reported having their sets severely damaged/destroyed by accident. The sets were quite elaborate and a lot of hard work was lost, but they vowed to rebuild. I remember reading about it here. Just wondering, what was the name of this fan production and what happened? Thanks.

Re: ID fan production + what happened...?

There was a production called Star Trek: Excalibur that had made a lot of progress building sets and such when the building where they were working changed owners and everything was torn down. I just checked their site ( http://www.startrekexcalibur.com/ ), and there hasn't been an update since Oct. 2006, when they were contacting a lawyer.

Damn; that's a terrible loss for them to go through.

Re: ID fan production + what happened...?

Thanks for the info. Sadly they might not have recovered from that unfortunate loss. :( I wish them all the best though in future endeavors. :)

Last I talked to Joseph about it, it sounded like they were making progress with the law suit and were looking into possibly borrowing someone else's sets for the first episode. It sounds like it'll still happen, just gonna take a while to get everything revved back up again.

Hopefully sooner than later, or my boyish good looks may start to fade. We certainly can't have a hotshot young security chief without boyish good looks, surely.

So what? He posted links that were germane -- never mind recently updated, which was kind of the whole point about this thread.

And it's a strong reminder of what could have been with that project. The sets looked awesome, and it's tragic they were destroyed. This incident was one of the considerations we had when we were looking to lease our warehouse space. The provisions in the lease that was set before us were suspicious, and when the two owners whom we met with starting speaking ill of each other before suddenly demanding two months' rent as a security deposit as well as first and last month's rent.... well, hello garage/carport.

But seriously, Joseph's sets looked as though the production was going to be spectacular!

Excalibur is really working hard to get moving again. If you have any love for fan films and you want to support them, please go to their facebook page and become a fan. They need as many supporters as they can get. They've got some ambitious plans.

They need your help. Maybe you can't give money. Maybe you can't give time. Maybe you don't have production skills. This is something that YOU CAN do.
